He would have made such a difference today, especially out wide. We are just not the same without him.

As per the title, we are in big trouble.

So are nine other clubs, six of them are below us..

Brill, so can we just end the season now then? Maybe you’ll want to revisit that statement in 6weeks time. If you were at the game/saw it you would know we are in big trouble.

Can Sorloth be our saviour? Bloody hope so. Without Wilf no one else can.

Amazed by the negativity on here. Surely most didn’t see the game?

Baring in mind the injury crisis, thought the lads put in a tremendous fight. We created a few good chances and game would have been different if we scored the first goal. Individual mistake from Tomkins header for the first goal ultimately cost us today. Only negative for me was TFM at CB, looked a bit out his depth there.

Tough fixtures coming up but we’re a bogey team for both Liverpool and Chelsea. Those 2 plus Man Utd & Spurs have a busy fixture schedule with FA cup and Champions League, may rest key players. We have a 16 day rest until our next game, will hopefully have Sakho and Kelly back by then. Also gives time for Sørloth and Rakip time to bed in.

WBA are adrift, Huddersfield in free fall. We need 4 teams to get ahead us to put us back in the relegation zone.

You don't know me.
People who do would view your comments with incredulity.

Anyway, this thread is NOT about 'Yours Truly'.
Let's not derail it - let's get back to the subject matter - a point I have been making very regularly.

Brighton, Stoke and Newcastle also have some tough games in that set. Swansea and Southampton both have a real chance to put some points on the board but in doing so will take points of those around us. W.Brom could pick up points but will need to start playing a lot better to do so. Huddersfield could also pick up points but again would then take them off our rivals and of course we could take points off them.
Even given the toughness of our next five games it will still be very close after that period.

I would expect the following points tally for each of these teams for the next 5 games:
Bold= Win, Italics = Draw.in above list.

Palace: 4. Win against Huddersfield and one more point from the other 4.
Newcastle:5. Win against Huddersfield and draws Vs Bournemouth and Soton.
Stoke: 4. win against Everton at home and draw Vs Leicester
Southampton:7. Win Against Stoke and 4 draws.
Brighton: 6. Win Vs Swansea and Leicester.
Huddersfield: 1. Draw Vs Swansea.
Swansea:5 Wins Vs West Ham and draw Vs Huddersfield and Southampton.
Wes Brom: 8. Wins Vs Huddersfield and Burnley. Draws Watford and Leicester

Assuming WBA, Huddersfield Southampton and Newcastle lose against Chelsea,Bournemouth Liverpool and Man U on Sunday.

Assuming no major upsets ..e.g. relegation rivals winning 3 points against top 6 teams.

Assuming Huddersfield to lose against most of our rivals. May work in our favour if Huddersfield were to pick up some draws against West Brom and Newcastle as long as they don't win more than one and we beat them.

This would mean total points after 32 games:
Huddersfield: 25
West Brom 28,
Stoke: 29
Newcastle: 30
Palace: 31
Swansea: 32
Southampton 33
Brighton: 34

Key games are:
We absolutely have to beat Huddersfield.

Hope Everton manage beat Stoke
Hope Burnley manage to beat WBA.
Hope Leicester manage to beat Brighton

I would be very happy to finish 32 games with 31 points in 16th place because we have more winnable last 6 games.

Why the hell Rekip did not come on only Roy knows. Townsend was very average, should have subbed him as well.

Cabeye is a concern, no pace now and not creating much as heis to deep andisalmosta centre back at times.

Someone tell Roy he can use subs please !!!

Sim-le thing to do would be to use some subs, which Roy seems to have forgotten he can do.

Don’t like to knock the team or manager but Benteke needs a rocket up his arse and someone tell him to stop ball watching, chase the ball more and push up closer to the oppositions last man. Sometimes you could park four cars between him and the last defender. Rakip should have issuesis given 15 mins and Cabeye needs to push up more.

But what do i know, im just a fan. We will suvive but only just.

Charlie Nicholas on 'Gillette Soocer Saturday' said that Cabaye has so much talent and Palace really need to get the best out of him.He clearly hasn't seen Cabaye play of late - in my judgement age has caught up with him.He is NOT the player of old and in decline.

Seriously though, have you been following the last few games? We're nowhere. Can't take the chances we get in front of goal, make schoolboy defensive errors, have a diminutive squad which is bereft due to injuries and literally zero back up. Our owners wasted the opportunity to strengthen our squad in the recent transfer window letting down the manager, players and supporters. I am not impressed and don't think we should rely upon other teams going into freefall like ourselves.
