It’s beyond a joke now, we could put out a great side with our injured players. Zaha , wickham, sakho, punch, schlupp , dann, kelly, rlc, Speroni. Id still have Punch on the bench...

Guardian reckons ‘at least 4 weeks’ and phrase ‘significant period’. If only 4 weeks, that might not be so bad, it’s the ‘at least’ I find unnerving. If it turns out to be just four weeks then at least he'll get time to recharge his batteries before the run in. Also gives us a chance to see how Alexander does.

The next 5 weeks worth of matches are Everton, Spurs, Man Utd and Chelsea. 3 are games most people (outside us optimistic Palace fans) would think we would do well to get something with or without Wilf, although if Chelsea are as poor as they have been recently make that 2. Perhaps trying a different formation with the 2 giants up front could work against those sides.

I always felt that with Wilf fit and playing we had a chance - without him I fear for us.

Agreed - and if that was the case he should have come off rather than played on.

Wilf has been off the boil for the past 4 games...so could be a blessing in disguise.id sooner he was fit and raring to go for the remaining 8 games than those against 4 of the top 5 coming up. Id also like to see some of the kids getting a chance on the bench...esp Wan Bisakka, Nirby or Hungbo. We have Ward fit again so we could poss see TFM take up the right side and swap Townsend over to the right...also with the likes of Reiderwald and the kid from Benfica available we shpuld have enough in us to continue to pick up valuable points. Learning to do so without Wilf will only help in the long run. We expect too much of him.
