I think the title of this thread is right.... it is pathetic when so many thousands of British chldren are in desperate need of a loving home.

It is, but this thread is about refugee children. Taking in a paltry 300 is not good enough.

British children are normally within the care system, refugee children are not.
Many will not be in a good way psychologically. Early infant trauma is increasingly being identified as a cause of later problems. In fact a lot of children have actually been misdiagnosed with ahd/adhd when it is early separation or anxiety trauma that's causing the symptons.

Not too sure about the in's and out, be interesting if you could share what you find out though.

If you taking on a refugee child you are living by your stated principles.

Keep us posted.

Anyone who can say to a tent-dwelling, cold, homeless, traumatised and orphaned 10 year old to her face 'sorry, love...I don't want you to come to the UK for an opportunity to start living again' should look in the mirror and wonder what turned you into this wonderful fully rounded and strong character u now take.

And you would say it to them you anti-child refugees, wouldn't you?
Principles and all that.

I thought the title was about the reaction from participants in the Great British Bake Off when they jelly doesn't set, as opposed to the actual meaning of the thread which is right it is pathetic we haven't kept our promise.

Yet it was The Tories who made the (false) promise. No doubt plenty of genuine refugees in their tent cities would have got the news when it was announced thinking it was a sincere offer and no doubt again that would have given them some hope. All heart them Conservatives.

Maybe if they took children, not grown ups who are supposed to be children.
Wasn't there a case where the daughter was assaulted by one.
But thats by the by,my point turning it back on kermit.could look a child in the eye in a care home who has been there all his/her,and say sorry we did find you a loving family, but we gave it to someone else.....

Remember when it was promised the UK would take in 3000 refugee children. Well we've only taken in 300 so far.

Campaigners have lost a court battle to force the Government to take the number of child refugees it promised to under the Dubs Amendment.

'Deirdre from Tunbridge Wells' who has been a lifelong Conservative Party donor is delighted by this news, I dare say.
