I'm afraid his injury record speaks for itself, I doubt we can expect anything from him pending eventual (!) fitness.

Must be very disappointing, frustrating and disheartening for the lad himself who only wants to get back to playing regularly.Sometimes in one's focus on the team one can forget the human element in such instances.

There must be doubts if Wickham will ever recover sufficiently to make a positive contribution in the PL. With Benteke out until January we could only be left with Sorloth and Ayew as our recognised strikers for at least a couple of months.

What a thought, good grief!

Could be even worse, Roy said of Benteke ‘hopefully earlier than later in 2019’, it’s the use of the word hopefully that worries me. Gutted for Connor, looking more and more unlikely that he will ever play again.
Sam Warburton (Rugby player) got a point when he knew he would never be fit again. Instead of costing his club and the WRU more money he retired without claiming insurance money (what a guy). I can’t think of many footballers that would do that and they make a s*** ton of money more than rugby players.

As a big fan of Conor I am now left with nothing to say really on this latest news.
But I have agree it must be coming to the point when a final decision is made on his future employment at the club to be fair to both parties. If a club able to terminate a player's contract due to long term injury? Not sure.

I think the club would have insurance on players who get an injury that ends their careers so they must be able to terminate on medical grounds as long as the evidence is there which in this case it should be, especially he now seems to get injured just doing up his laces!

Perhaps the time has come for Connor to consider his future outside the game in the interests of both parties as looking increasingly likely that despite his valiant and best efforts to beat his injuries,he will never be able to return to the top flight.
Very sad given our acute shortage of a genuine striker at the present time.

Its been a torrid couple of years for the lad, but we have to give him a chance. If we had a plethora of attacking options I might feel differently, but......well you know the rest.

If he hast been able to get match fit and contribute by the end of this season, its probably time to cut ties, but he is coming off a major injury and setbacks are fairly common.

Maybe by the end of this season he is our main striker. Considering he is already at the club and wont cost a fee, it would be pretty crazy to not at least roll the dice.

I believe he is under contract until summer 2020.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.
