The whole striker situation was a farce. Spending 26 million on a defender when that money could could have been spent else where is laughable especially a striker. Ironic he mentioned how they spent to long on the appointment of FDB missing out on other targets. Just like most of our transfer dealings. After listening to Steve sounds like a nice bloke speaks well but in relation to running the club going forward It feels like the begging of the end of this particular chapter in palaces history. I think you're right on all you've said, but maybe Parish might run the club but either have someone run or advise on the football. It seems we had the money for a striker going by the Niasse deal breaking down by his agent after us and Everton agreed terms.

He pretty much said this at the start of the interview. Said they have looked through the list of everyone available and alluded to the fact they are free agents for a reason either because they aren't very good in front of goal, not up to the rigor of the premier league every week of they are not fit / carrying an injury

This is a discussion forum so after an extremely poor transfer window, taking an eternity to appoint a new manager and then sacking him less than two months later coupled with breaking the national record for the worst ever start in history what do you suggest we discuss?

Agreed - we didn't have a good pre-season for whatever reason, but this Chairman is the best we've had in my lifetime and to undermine him or get rid of him would be Lunacy. We should unite and tell people carping from the outside like Alan Shearer to F*** Off!!

I've not listened to the interview. Fair play to Steve for going on HOL radio to provide answers and explanations and not adopt a 'Bunker mentality' at a difficult time. His detractors assert that he only comes to to communicate when things are going well and goes silent when the club hits a rocky patch but alas he has NOT 'Hidden' at all in this instance.Such action by our Owner/Chairman really is a bracing gust of fresh air. I doff my hat to Steve.

I'll doff my hat to him when he goes on Talksport and gets a proper grilling rather than chatting with his buddies on HOL

I doff my hat to Steve. How can you make such a comment. I personally thought he come across a bit of a wally. Especially regarding wanting praise for signings such as Delaney, bolasie and Zaha. According to Steve his constantly criticised by fans when signing go wrong. Now if you look when Wilf signed his new deal. There was plenty of fans praising his efforts. It's part of life if Steve parish is prepared to bask in glory with signings such as Sako and Zaha. Then you open yourself up for criticism of signing bakary Sako and adebayor. Yes, he was generous with his time, which I applaud him for. There was hardly any fresh news regarding stadium development, academy, transfer failures and the poor scouting department. The question were generally easy imo.

The question were generally easy imo. I think you are taking that a bit out of context. He was basically saying the people on Social Media that slag him off for bad signings are nowhere to be seen to praise him for the good ones. Said they ought to make up their minds as to whether he's responsible for all the signings (good or bad) or none of them. I think that is semantically different to how you've interpreted it, with respect. Edited by Part Time James (18 Sep 2017 1.57pm)
