It doesn't seem like we are learning from our mistakes.

Yes it picked up for the next 3 games but we were fortunate to win against Sunderland. The main components of the team should be in place for the first game of the season.

The only significant player we signed last summer after the first week of July was Benteke and he played against Bournemouth. I guess he could have scored twice against WBA to give us a win but that is stretching it If you think every point is vital, maybe you need everyone there Day 1. If you think you have a few points to spare and beating Huddersfield is a good bet anyways you might try and wait out Sakho for 20 mill on deadline day cf 30m couple of weeks earlier It's a poker game

Last season we didn't have cover at left back, Soare got injured and we lost a heap of points right there. Right now we are vulnerable in a number of positions. We are likely to lose someone to injury from the first eleven. We will struggle if we get only a couple of injuries but if we get lucky then we will be ok. In my opinion a lot of work is needed to get the squad strong enough for an expected mid-table finish.

All the games in this league are difficult,Far harder for Huddersfield to blend in 7 new players, if they do,than us switching to 343.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

We need to sign a number of players including Sakho, a keeper, a striker and probably another two midfielders. Our pre season has been bereft of goal scoring chances and our passing game will see us get destroyed by quality teams. Other than that, great.

This is my problem, we need a few players and have 2 weeks to incorporate them into the squad. Just seems to be cutting it fine.

Benteke was unlucky not to score four goals against Metz....
