I've seen good summers turn into bad starts and vice versa. I didn't knock the Liverpool result and won't celebrate a west Brom friendly win. Give me a Huddersfield result and performance.

Does 343 suit Zaha. His best position is wide on thd right.( Not sure why he played left yesterday). But surely if you're playing 343 the 2 wide players need to play closer to the center forward and the wingbacks push up wide. This certainly didn't happen yesterday with Benteke looking very isolated. Just going off FdB's reasoning. His thinking is in a 4-3-3 Zaha ends up too deep and wastes energy defending in our own half. From what I can tell the formation change is in theory to get the best out of Zaha.

Less likely to happen at home which is where the advantage is for us really.

Our best attacking threat = Zaha , Benteke , Townsend. Our best best Midfield = Luka, Cabaye . Pick a formation and players around them that makes that work .

From what I can tell the formation change is in theory to get the best out of Zaha. That's exactly what FDB said. Although he likes 4-3-3, he thinks 3-4-3 will work better with the players we have, once they are used to the system. He said he can always revert to 4-3-3 if needed.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

One from a free kick and one from a double deflection, against a less than mediocre WBA side, devoid of ideas, other than kicking Zaha up in the air for the first hour. We're nowhere near getting the ball to Benteke, in good positions, and in the second half, when we were being pressed, we never looked like creating anything. Let's see how it goes in the real world, before we get carried away. There was some promise yesterday, but that is all.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I would agree as well .The worry for me though is in the two Asia cup games Benteke hardly got a sniff of goal which would indicate that 343 wont suit him . Still early days though .
