J.williams strengths - key passes

Weaknesses- tackling, finishing, passing and Ariel duals

Where's he actually gonna get in the side. Can think of 4 players that would get in front of him as a number 10 - puncheon, Cabaye, mcarthur and lee. Even in the wide positions he's behind sako,Zaha,Townsend ,lee and puncheon. If he hasn't forced he's way on the bench and he's competing against the likes of sako and lee, then the premiership not for him.

don't know why tackling is on your list ..he normally wins the ball , than he's embarrassed the opposition he than gets clattered ...

Has anyone here actually seen JW play a match recently?

I thought not

Lots of opinions though

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I expect that most of us saw him perform in the Euros and he hasn't played that much since then

Does that make him a premier league number 10. He hasn't he scored a league goal for Palace in the 55 he's played. With FDB arrival doesn't all of sudden turn Williams into David silva for instance. When the 25 man squad was chosen the likes of mutch, lee and many others ahead of him. If he didn't have an academy background, he'd of been sold. Look at his stats, hardly was that impressive on loan at Ipswich.

Andy Johnson Magic, He wears a Magic Hat
When he Sees the match ball, he says he having that
He scores one with left foot, he scores one with his right
And When his playing Brighton, He scores all f***ING Night!

He's like the Regimental Mascot; you wouldn't want to parade without him yet will likely be back in the stables when battle begins.

Joniesta loves Palace and we love him and it's nice to see him back and smiling.

My point being that people are judging him on hearsay and memory rather than anything else

I hope he becomes a Palace regular in he PL squad

JW has got skill and this is why he is constantly getting injured as he does not seem to have the physical strength to withstand being clattered. If he can toughen up and take the field with the same mental attitude that he displayed in the Euros, then he may well fit into the FdB style of play. Let's give him a chance in the pre-Season games and see where he goes from there.

I'd love to see you eat your words, but alas, I don't expect that to happen.

I'd love it too, and part of me writing that was in hope I'd eat it back up one day. But I think the glimpses of brilliance and bags of potential will remain just that.

My goodness if Williams had NOT come through our academy and was purchased, would we have had this debate ? Probably many would be thinking "Get rid".

Only because he came through the academy and runs around like a mad thing does he get given so much love by the fans. Injuries have massively hampered him but does he really have the technique for the Premier League?

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

No, we're judging him on the evidence we've seen when he's played.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Going back to our promotion year, to me Williams was as impressive as Wilf.
Would love to see him given a run of half dozen games, have a feeling he might surprise many and would be like having a new signing, however the financial rewards for being involved in the prem does not allow for managers to take risks so I doubt he will ever be given his chance.

One of those was a player who scored vital goals, provided assists and was sold to Man Utd for £15m. The other was mostly peripheral and behind Garvan, Dobbie and Moritz. As impressive as Wilf? Come on!
