A few things strike me reading those notes. Firstly, why did he speak to an American media group first? No answer here but seemed worth mentioning It must be very difficult to know what to say about player purchases given the market conditions. If buyers know you're in the market for 5 players with a £60 million urgent then you will struggle to obtain both targets. We all know we need at least 5 or maybe 6 recruits. So surely does Parish but he can't tell the world that. At least this summer we are not quite as desperate as last summer (for a striker) or in January when sellers know you're desperate and we were made to pay up for left backs and a defensive midfielder.
