Lots of other clubs have pumped money into youth yet palace are doing very little it proves this by just looking at who is in the youth setup. time to pump money into this even if you only bring in people to make profit this is what all the big boys do and look at how well Southampton have done this just shows how key youth recruiting and scouting really is. How many youth players play on the premier league these days. Waste of time throwing money at it.

A delay of this length certainly doesn't help, especially as other PL clubs are starting to sort their early target out, but as we tend to drag transfers out to the end of the window, I'm not sure how much difference it will make. We absolutely must have this sorted before the first week in July, when pre-season should be starting. It almost feels like Sam, in doing the right thing and leaving early, gave us too much time to make an appointment. If, after all this time, we end up appointing Dyche (which will be more of the same old, same old) I think we'll look rather foolish. This was a great opportunity to start to move on from survival to establishment (it's our fifth season after all) and I'm still hoping we'll be adventurous enough to make an appointment that will achieve that and be able to attract more of the sort of players we will need.
