Rather him than any of that lot on the bench, plus frees up funds to upgrade players if we shift them. Sako scored a couple of vital goals in his first season against Chelsea and Villa that helped get us six valuable points, before he got injured. Lee scored a winner at Stoke, and this season he came on and put in a perfect delivery for Benteke at Sunderland with his first touch. Neither of them got much time, and I'm not saying they are Palace legends or anything like that, but that's exactly the sort of contribution you want from players coming off the bench. Does Williams provide that sort of quality? I just don't see it.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

Good that he signed. We do need squad players, simple as that. We can not assume we can have direct replacements for all positions on the bench without losing quality. Dire back up needed on RB and striker position so spending money there seems a wise way of thinking.

Joniesta has either been out on loan or injured, usually at the same time. Let's hope he can have a long period injury free and push on.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Jonny Williams new deal' by kenbarr I still wish we could fit him in somehow. A talented player to have as back up when fit. Glad he signed a new contract if only so we can get a decent fee for him.

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Yet it's OK to give Zaha £110K per week? Zaha is at least 11 times more important to Palace staying up than Williams.

Johnny Williams, Connor Wickham, Bakary Sako far too injury prone look at Wickham in 3 years less than 30 games played.....Get shot of all 3 and save the wages.

Zaha is at least 11 times more important to Palace staying up than Williams. The point is one is a professional footballer and the other needs to donate his body to medical science. At least Jonny Williams can keep Connor Wickham company on the treatment table.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Jonny Williams new deal' by kenbarr I can't see him making the 25 man squad again this year so out on loan once more I guess.
