Does Pulis really want Sakho or is he just trying to push the price up?

Anyways it will need Sakho to state he wants to leave for Palace to force this through, I suspect it could go all the way like it did with Benteke and annoy all of us. Parish will need to have alternatives lined up just in case it goes sour.

Its good to see all our games being snapped up by TV as that fills the coffers, and we'll need every penny.

Would love to sign Sakho permanently but however I see this loan as a catalyst to a bigger club. He's done extremely well I wouldn't begrudge him it. His contribution has 85% enabled us to stay in this league.

I'm pretty sure we could have bought him in January for £20m & was very surprised we hadn't taken him on with an option to buy in the summer.

He strikes me as one of those players that needs to feel appreciated/loved to get the best out of him, much like Wilf & Townsend. Hopefully, they'll all understand where Palace sits as a Club & that they are unlikely to be lauded the way they are now anywhere else.

Sam, Sammy & co seem to be extremely talented man-managers so we could hold on to/sign a few players that folk wouldn't expect.

I presume the suggestion was that West Ham fans are generally racist and that the one mentioned by the poster is irked by the linking of the name of Bobby Moore (something of a saint to West Ham fans) with the word 'black'.

Is Sakho like Bobby Moore in terms of his style? I don't think so, not entirely anyway. I'd describe Sakho as a 'beast' of a defender and I don't think anyone would use that adjective to describe Bobby Moore.

Having said that, I think there are a couple of parallels. Sakho seems to have very good positional sense, being in the right place to snuff out danger. He also seems calm and distributes the ball well. These are all things I think you would associate with Bobby Moore.

And, yes, break the bank.

Problem is anyone else we went for in that position would be some sort of risk whereas we know that Sakho is a glove fit for Palace there. Yes, you might buy a defender of similar quality for say £25m, but you then have the whole question of whether he will fit in all over again. Reckon removing that risk is worth some sort of premium.
