we WILL beat Leicester, and that ( plus a couple of draws) will keep us up.

Everything is different when you look back with hindsight. Remember where we were and what we were thinking even before the Chelsea game: In the past two games, we've collected 3 points (I originally thought 1 was good), Hull have 6 (originally thought 4) and Swansea have 1 (originally thought 3). I don't think at anyone point, beating Chelsea guaranteed safety, especially with our run in. However, looking back on initial thoughts, I don't think these games have gone badly at all. Yesterday's result changed nothing.... but Saturday's did. Too many doom and gloom merchants on here. Apart from losing ourselves last night, the other results went to plan. For a start we can now probably write off Sunderland and Boro. So we just trying to avoid the 3rd spot. Hull won (beating Boro in the process). Swansea and West Ham lost too and Bournemouth drew. How or why is everyone so pessimistic about our chances of survival based solely on last night's results? Chin up lads/lasses.... any of the teams below us would swap our positions in a heartbeat.

Stop being overly pessimistic people. I personally thought we were sunk in Feb but look at the turnaround in the last few weeks. We have a tough run in and a big injury list but we balance that with a good manager, good support, a decent squad and what looks very much like fighting spirit in the ranks. By no means am I saying we wont go down but I think we have a damn good chance of another 8-9 points or so which if we take them from Hull etc will be enough.

In Rumania, they have a saying: *Cine sapă groapa altuia, cade singur în ea.
While you dig a pit of pessimism for us all, you risk falling into it too. This might affect your real life. So please: Have a cup of tea. Do some press ups. Sing a song. Life isn't that bad. Mind you, I see your point, Palace do have a difficult run in.

Feeling the nerves myself but, due to goal difference, if we were to win 2 games, Swansea would need to win 4 from 7 to finish above us. That would be a tough ask. I know, I know. Straws and grasping. But I'll take anything!
Now here's Wright, his first chance to see what he can do, and he's through, it's Wright, ohhhh what an impact by the substitute. And it's Ian Wright who's sent the Palace fans into ecstasy! |
