And from past experience I am NOT surprised that there are those who continue to make such ridiculous allegations. I REPEAT - All I have done on this thread is to look at incidents from the perspective of the referee and NOT from the perspective of those who view incidents umpteen times through 'Slow-mo'. And I REPEAT - Referees are only human and will make mistakes as do managers and players.
But you always do it when we have been on the receiving end of a terrible refereeing performance. You know exactly the response you are going to get. Then feign outrage at them. If you didn't like the responses you know you are going to get with your posts then you wouldn't post them. You are a sad attention seeker. If you are a Palace fan then strange how you like to rub salts in our wounds when the club has been wronged.

Re "Sad attention seeker", nothing could be further from the truth. This from someone who in the man refrains from getting involved in political debates for fear that the attention would turn to 'Yours Truly' rather than the matter under discussion.Same for other threads hence why I leave the debate with pleas of "WILLO thread". As for "If you are a Palace fan" - I'll have you know I have been a staunch supporter since the 60s. Regards "Rub salts in the wounds", all I have done is to try and see the incidents from Madley's perspective that's all. Where have I defended him per se ? Besides there are no "Wounds" - we won the game and NO decisions of the referee cost us the game. Edited by Willo (26 Feb 2017 11.19am)

Edited by Willo (26 Feb 2017 11.19am) Given this is a forum we only the have the benefit of what someone posts to form an opinion, unless you know them outside of the forum. Based on what you have posted over a long period of time and not knowing you otherwise, my opinion is that you are definitely trolling. It doesn't matter if we won or not, the ref could have cost us with his ineptitude. A difficult job doesn't give the right to extreme poor performance without criticism.

Well, all I will say is that I have formed opinions which have proven to be wrong.Your opinion is in this category. We cannot always be right - same for referees !

I think I have seen it all supporting Palace, If deserved I will criticise the team and if a ref has a good game I am happy to acknowledge this. However as a paying customer I feel I should get a fair deal for my money, unfortunately for many games this season I have not, thanks to the appalling officiating. The "with benefit of slo-mos" does not wash with me, if it is that difficult the refs should make a case for the introduction of replays but of course they will not as it will show them up for the incompetent bunch they are.

In general, I can appreciate why decisions are given and why they are not given and of course referees will err from time to time.We are all great referees when we see 'Slow-mos' umpteen times from various angles. I'm now telling you for the third time that my son and I both called the decision we're talking about correctly the first time we saw it. Same goes for the Snodgrass one. I've never accused you of claiming that referees don't make mistakes. The problem is that you think making a whole catalogue of appalling mistakes which favour one team over another (us) is fine and dandy. The ref was s***e and that's a fact.

I'm sure referees would be delighted to get all the assistance they can from technology - certainly make a very difficult job much easier. You cannot blame referees for the non-introduction of technology thus far. Finally it is a gross generalisation to label referees an "Incompetent bunch".We see them regularly on TV - They might make mistakes but they are not "Incompetent" in the manner suggested. Both or you made your decision based on what you saw from your angle and vantage point. A referee made his decision on what he saw and often others get a much better view than he has. Many years ago I recall getting into an argument with supporters as we were leaving the ground. They were all convinced our player was pushed in the box and that is why he went down so the referee should have awarded a penalty. From my vantage point I had a much better view and told them that in my opinion (I had better eyesight then !) no hand was laid on our player so NO penalty. All about what view you get.

The booking was ridiculous and the referee had a clear unobstructed view of the incident.

Yes referees do make mistakes as in yesterday's match but what I would love is them to be interviewed about players' mistakes after matches, especially after watching replays of incidents. This would probably not be allowed by FIFA due to them having to be neutral in football.
The pyramid to beat all pyramids!! Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in? |
