Punch had his best game for some time, he actually had a couple of shots in the first half. Having said that still not happy that he is prone to giving the ball away and bottles challenges. Having Luka helped the situation no end.

I thought he and Ward were again our worst outfield players. Sakho and Lukaka the best. What does this tellus? maybe that not everyone always plays to the same standard and that we've signed a player from Everton without anyone noticing?

Puncheon was better than recently, but that's not saying much. Incredible that he starts every week yet McArthur had to sit on the bench yesterday.

Puncheon although not in sparkling form of late certainly showed what is expected of a captain on the field of play and what we have been missing in terms 'talking, pointing, leading, encouraging and motivating the team on the park'. I don't think Jimmy Mac has the engine to last a whole game and is much more effective interchanging with Cabaye.

According to the stats, he's been better than Cabaye in nearly all areas.

A local lad who has been one of the best goal scoring midfielders we’ve had in one of the most successful eras in the club’s history. Whether you think he needs to be replaced or not, the lack of respect for this man is criminal.
