However his use of language is in contravention of the same rule because it is racially objectionable and abusive.

I note that Mr Sizlak hasn't been yellow carded for describing my wife and large numbers of my friends as being a bad lot just because of where they were born.

Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly care if I (also) get banned from the HOL.

I was just wondering if it's normal for the moderators of this site to turn a blind eye to racist dick heads whilst banning other people just for using the word prick?

I find East European people reliable courteous and friendly.

And that is a generalisation as absurd as the one that the OP wet his knickers about. Or are generalisations only bad when they're negative?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I rarely see Eastern Europeans in the UK. Mainly it is Central Europeans such as Poles, Czechs, Slovakians, Hungarians and Slovenians. I have found that Central Europeans are easy to warm to.

You can't be a racist if you think that only some Welsh, Blacks, Eskimos or Eastern Europeans are a bad lot.

So it figures that generalising about how courteous they all are is quite silly but not as offensive.

Does that make sense?

Not to me. But 'racist' indicates a negativity. If you are entirely positive about a group and don't use that to imply or state negativity about a different group you are of course not being racist.

And yes, generalisations are only bad if they are negative or have an indication of negativity for the 'out' group. As there is no deleterious effect it automatically cannot be 'bad'.

East European people help me in the week and I have had no problems at all I don't expect them to be angels.

They earn the minimum wage and I find them friendly.

No uk people are available to do the job and now I wouldn't want them.

Let me just defend you here and say that suggesting that any select nationality is something or other is ludicrous unless, it is in the context of a knowingly gross generalisation.
For example, The English love their animals.

People with families can't afford to do the job....where as they tend to live in shared houses they can,if the companies paid a decent wage then they could....and you wouldn't want who??
