To be fair some of the trivia you come out with is interesting and sometimes helpful. In fact interesting.

If you would just be honest though and admit most (the vast majority in fact) is internet researched. You have been caught out so, so, so many times.

If you started off with"I researched this and found out... X,Y and Z..." Your credibility and integrity would jump no ends. In fact they would be pleasant and well received points!

But when you start with "...I remember..." or "...if my memory serves me right..." it is complete cods wallop... and shen you start with the '... Bloke in the pub..." nonsense it really is a great big fat

The notion that I run off to Internet football sites every time I see something on here I could contribute to is in your own words "Complete codswallop". I can assure you this is simply NOT the case.

Over the years I have built up a knowledge of players etc and I know you won't believe it but I certainly DO speak to a number of people on a regular basis about the "Beautiful game", people who are steeped in knowledge.Not going to add to this.

As an example, only the other day I was speaking to an ex-professional whose family member is involved in the Academy at L.Orient.He mentioned to me about a young lad (Who he had seen play) who had left the club, gone up north and a club was willing to pay good money for him. I said straight away that the lad is 'Jacob Bedeau' and he was astonished I knew someone at that level.I remembered the name 'Bedeau' because there used to be a 'Tony Bedeau' who played hundreds of games for Torquay - not sure if they are related.Anyhow I now see that the young lad has moved on to A.Villa for a sum that could reach £900K !!!! I certainly didn't need the Internet to mention the lad's name !!!!

You mentioned about "Bloke in pub" - my goodness I could tell you a story about a conversation I had with a northern chap the other day but I think I will leave that for later.

At the end of the day we all avail of the Internet for various facts but please don't think I am wholly reliant on it and use it all the time to post on here. I still retain things in my bonce !
