Well now your attitudes to various topics become clearer.

If I was Jewish and my family had perished at the hands of the Nazis then I doubt that I could remain neutral or unemotional about the Holocaust or Neo Nazi groups and the like.
Equally, and I say this with the benefit of not being in that position, I don't think I would want to become a victim of it either post event.
My grandfather fought in the war against the Germans in Europe and I am always irrationally proud of that. I have his medals on my lounge wall but I can't spend my life hating Germans because some German Bullets whistled past him in action. I can't really relate to your mindset as a Jewish person beyond feeling disgusted by the dreadful treatment of fellow human beings.

.........................................

But not disgusted enough to have joined the resistance or to say your counterparts back then should have...

QED

ps.I don't spend my life hating all Germans..or Austrians or Croatians for that matter...I've had all kinds of intercourse with some of them,no problem

Do despise all fascists and their fellow travellers without reservation though, whichever minority they target...

Most people have to be highly motivated to risk their lives. Different circumstances produce different motivations.
My natural inclination would be to protect my loved ones as a priority. I don't apologise for that.

I feel some have been desensitised already.

If sending your wife and kids to a country that offered refuge was the best option, would you choose it?

That really depends on the specific circumstances. It's easy to make decisions for hypotheticals but in reality? I could not say.

I'll give you a scenario then. If their lives were in danger because militant forces were wiping out whole towns and villages would you do all you can to help them get the f*** away?

If I were a Syrian for example and thought that the only chance of survival for my family was to flee then that is one you might choose.
I'm not a Syrian of course and I have other concerns and considerations.

Do you have any empathy for anyone in that situation?

I guess with a name like Hrolf you are from Middle-Earth? Or perhaps the lesser known Right-Earth?

I have loads of sympathy. Empathy would suggest that I know what it feel like to be in their position, which I don't.
What I also don't do is spend my time poncing around the internet proclaiming how virtuous I am.

I leave that to you.

Blimey Hedgehog. That means you must live in Far Right Earth.

FYI, Hrolf was a Viking.

Another lame retort. I've never proclaimed to be virtuous, far from it. But it's easier to bandy that about than debate.

Don't know about that. 'Left' and 'Right' are pretty meaningless really. I support certain views that would be regarded as 'left', nationalisation of utilities, some means of narrowing the difference in earnings of the top and bottom, control of landlords and their rents, equality for women, to name one or two.
