So what you are saying is that at Sunderland he won 3 of his first 11 games? I would bite your hand off, mate. At Newcastle he won 5 and drew 2 of his opening 9 games. Didn't someone once say, you can prove anything with stats? We scored for fun under Pardew but tended to concede more than we scored, Allardyce has probably recognized we have some defensive shortcomings, yes. He is correct to try to instill confidence in the back four and team with some tight pulis style performances. That is beside the point. I am talking about Parish and getting some players signed. Might I remind you that it was the dealings in the January transfer window that saved Sunderland. It's all very well signing new players, since promotion we have signed loads.

Plus the US investment - Make that £550-£600million turnover by the end of this year since 2012. You've gotta be asking questions when this kind of money is involved and, quite possibly, back in The Champ in 4 months with not much at all to show for the previous 4 seasons off the field. I'm not talking corruption but I am talking shocking lack of livestock skills when that golden goose came knocking.

Yes, but off the field those clubs are much more 'Prem' than we are even if all three of us get relegated. I am talking specifically about facilities and structure here not the playing side. All that money sent to the club in the hundreds of millions and it's gone. Have the facilities not improved?
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

You keep making things up. Arsenal set his wages, as under contract to them, so how can Parish not meet his demands? He chose Bournemouth for other reasons, nothing to do with money. I didnt say Parish did not meet his demands?, As for making things up, that's two posters you have thrown that at, we are not kids in a playground and because you disagree with others opnions it means its not true. I know for a fact that Wiltshire was given a much bigger signing on fee than what we offered, He was also offered a very good bonus something we didnt offer. He was very close to signing for us but little incentives made his mind up, He knew how much Bournmouth wanted him by their actions and decided to sign for them.In hindsight looks like he made the correct decision.

Unless my mind is playing tricks on me, I thought that Wilshere chose Bournemouth over us because he preferred the Bournemouth playing style, Wilshere preferred Eddie Howe over Alan Pardew, and Benik Afobe is his best mate. Isn't Wilshere's contract with Arsenal, so doesn't Wilshere get paid what Arsenal contracted to pay, regardless of what the loaning club pays. Finance may have been in there somewhere, but this doesn't seem appropriate at all. Your mind is playing tricks on you. Wilshere said he would have preferred us. The financial aspect refers to Arsenal not Wilshere. We only offered part of his weekly wage, so Arsenal ruled us out, not Wilshere.

It wasn't Wilshere's decision! We only offered to pay part of his wages, whereas Bournemouth offered the full wage plus a signing on fee to Arsenal..... so Arsenal ruled us out. Wilshere had to decide between Bournemouth and an Italian club, which also matched his wages.

I remember that there was some reports in the press that we "appeared to be Wilshere's preferred option" leading up to the deadline but after the deadline I thought that it was equally reported that Wilshere ultimately preferred Bournemouth. Of-course, I do not know Jack Wilshere, so I have no way of checking one way or the other. All I know is that you shouldn't believe all you read in the press.

The link is to the original thread about Jack W when the deal was done with Bournemouth.... All speculation as now. I was merely repeating the rumour I heard, as you were repeating the rumour you heard. Only Wilshere, Arsenal and Parrish know exactly what went on.

Good post. People who quote they live in the real world are inferring they are superior and they aren't. The football world in which Parish has to work, is full of low life's, sharks, greedy people. It ain't an easy job, as everybody thinks they can do better, with no evidence st all except hindsight. You say good post but Maine Eagle was the one spouting about living in the real world not me!!
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |
