I trust the board to get the right replacement, spend well in the window and for us to stay up. COYP. Allardyce is a 'clean sheet first' type of manager and highly likely to keep Palace up which I guess is the name of the game. Not a name to celebrate exactly! Would much rather we went for a youngish Championship manager with a proven track record

You could be right. We will never know. We are not in the relegation zone at present. If a new man comes in and keeps us in the same position he will be lauded as a savior. True - the only reason I see this as less of a gamble is that Pardew had started to lose the crowd and the press were starting to take the mick of the run - if we go don now we have the "we tried all we could" excuse. That said, I do think they had to make a change just find the timing a bit off - why wait almost a week after the Chelsea game? I'd have expected us to wait till after Watford.

I give you credit to Parish for giving Pardew time to turn it around but this 5 year contract and alleged £5 mil pay off, erm, no. Parish knows it's a mistake and probably why he delay this inevitable decision and fought his corner after remarkable comments about major investors and more defeatist comments and moronic and in-play decisions showing a lack of respect for points yet again after doing so numerous times. The guy did it over and over again like a gambler who broadcasts wins and stays mute over losses.

As i said on another thread, timing is odd and I wonder about the club strategy if after procrastinating the best they can do is Sam Alalrdyce
