Sometimes I think that areas of Selhurst Park must contain parallel universes.

Cabaye was excellent on Saturday. Worked his socks off, held the ball well, tackled fiercely, sprayed it around and was the centre of all we did. This has not always been so in his time with us.

I love Jedi and he can stop attacks and hold the ball. With the best will in the world he can't distribute anywhere near as well as Cabaye and McArthur.

before i start...i agree hes has been dissapointing since joining.

but...

there are obvious reasons for this as hes played almost every minute for us on wrong side of the pitch...whenever he has played well in his career he has played on the right hand side of the pitch and been effective cutting in. all of a sudden hes been asked to play out of position and he cant do it well, some players can easily adapt but he cant.

also i would point out if you watch our games this season it almost seems to me that we are making more space for wilf to play in on the right hand side of the pitch and whenever andros gets the ball it seems to be very congested on the left hand side and its harder to operate in.

he needs to perform better thats probably the only thing every fan on this site 100% agree on at the mo, but also he needs more minutes on the pitch, and maybe him & wilf swap sides for the watford game and lets see what he can do.

he is a very very good player, and it will work at palace given time.

..these are not little boys, in your world they may be but they are fully grown up men, are you suggesting Mr Townsend needs to be motivated to play his football by the manager who he plays for, I actually imagine the players to be motivating themselves to attract personal interest and a feeling of well being from being all together during training and whilst doing so encouraging each other to do this and that on the pitch to achieve the result they all want, I doubt very much Mr Pardew has very much to say in this department because why would Mr Townsend cut his own feet off to spite Mr Pardew and whilst doing so let his team mates down and flushing his own career down the toilet and all his non footballing mates and family thinking ..what are you doing?
He is struggling with form, nothing more ..nothing less, why would he want to show the whole world how ferking crap he is?.......he wouldn't would he.

So basically Cabaye did his job and that's class and excellent.

Dissapointing! Townsend has been totally crap of late. Firstly he is a footballer and should be capable of putting a decent shift in any position he's told to play in!

Wilf is playing probably the best football of his career at present so Townsend isn't going to get a look in on the right at the moment.

But he could have made the left hand side his own by now, had regular switches during matches with Wilf and the possibility of a run on the right if Wilf goes to the Afcon in January.

As a £13m purchase Andros doesn't need more time he is or was an international footballer! We have less gifted players at the club but they put far more effort, drive, physicality and determination into playing for Palace than he ever does or will!

So what is he doing at the moment just sulking like he did at Spurs when Pochattino put him out.

Lets recoup our money or loan him out and get a decent winger, who has a left foot (who doesn't want to always cut in) and has tenacity, grit and wants to play for the team!

WRONG! He needs to play on the left.
