Needs to play on the right. I think pardew has fallen out with the player- and pardew wont drop zaha when in such good form, creating and scoring. Perhaps zaha on the left might help townsend floriush but then may make zaha not as effective. I agree though, very disappointed with how townsend has turned out. In hindsight i imagine we would of not purchased and kept bolasie. At this moment of time i would excercise the recall on Kaikai as another option on the left, he doesnt appeared injured as often as sako and has shown great promise on the odd occasion he has appeared for us, and shrewsbury. Not so much at brentford, but just like townsend, it doesnt always work at a particular club.

Worked his socks off, held the ball well, tackled fiercely, sprayed it around and was the centre of all we did. This has not always been so in his time with us. I love Jedi and he can stop attacks and hold the ball. With the best will in the world he can't distribute anywhere near as well as Cabaye and McArthur. You seem to be out there on your own Alan. So basically Cabaye did his job and that's class and excellent.

He isn't technically gifted enough to play on the right, but he's a very fast and witty left wing

Dissapointing! Townsend has been totally crap of late. Firstly he is a footballer and should be capable of putting a decent shift in any position he's told to play in! Wilf is playing probably the best football of his career at present so Townsend isn't going to get a look in on the right at the moment. But he could have made the left hand side his own by now, had regular switches during matches with Wilf and the possibility of a run on the right if Wilf goes to the Afcon in January. As a £13m purchase Andros doesn't need more time he is or was an international footballer! We have less gifted players at the club but they put far more effort, drive, physicality and determination into playing for Palace than he ever does or will! So what is he doing at the moment just sulking like he did at Spurs when Pochattino put him out. Lets recoup our money or loan him out and get a decent winger, who has a left foot (who doesn't want to always cut in) and has tenacity, grit and wants to play for the team!

Townsend was played on the right earlier in the season, his cutting in got predictable but also we don't have overlapping fullbacks to drag the opposition fullback wide. Now he's just got to deal with the fact that if he plays, it's on the left, and he had to take his chance there. He was playing well there in our 1 good spell, then he started complaining and it's affected his form.

So we don't need managers?

Can't think of a signing that I've expected so much from that has delivered so little. The free kick at the end summed up his Palace career so far, imagine doing that in Sunday football, you'd get slated and rightly so. Cabaye fits the bill more than AT. I think it's a confidence thing, we have seen it before, notably with wilf - going to a new club, it can take time to gel, but this seems different. He obviously has lost his preferred spot to Wilf, he must be able to get wind of fans being disappointed at the comparisons.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

Having Ledley play DM or Flamini, puts Cabaye into his ideal position - He's too light weight I think to be an out and out tackling midifielder, but his interception rate is sublime. He needs that bit of freedom that a 'proper DM' can give him.

He's a player who seems to lack consistency of form at clubs, he usually bursts onto the scene, then fades into obscurity. I think its more of a mental thing, than a fitness or skill thing. I don't think he's sulking or moody, but maybe he has issues outside of the game that affect him.

If you could get AT to work hard (at the very least!), a midfield of (right to left) Wilf, Macca, Ledley, Punch and Townsend would be my first choice. There's no doubt Yo's interceptions are great and his understanding of the game is on another level but he doesn't effect the game enough for me and he's too weak in the tackle - Which is something we have to do a lot at the moment!
