As pro-remain as I am, the situation in Italy only indicates a benefit of us leaving the EU, looks like within the next 6 months SOMEONE will have to bail them out. Also with 5-star populist movement gaining momentum, wouldn't be surprised if we saw an Italian EU referendum in the not too distant future...
Five Star are pro EU but against the Euro in Italy. Edited by europalace (08 Dec 2016 10.02am)

Surely they will look to the European Central Bank if this banking crisis happens, they won't get anything by leaving the EU. I thought the Italians and Europe tied at the hip.

Fighting a crisis by running to those who help cause the crisis? I'm sure the printing presses are being primed as we speak. Yet more debt for the Italian people. Out of the frying pan............

Fancy that, 'experts' being way off the mark. I hope 'Hrolf' doesn't see this. I have no faith in experts. I have even less faith in people who think they are experts. Everyone needs to stop wetting their knickers. We all know the dangers of self fulfilling prophecy.

Do you mean if there is more QE - if there is it will be across the whole euro zone and not Italy. Very difficult to sort out under capitalised banks in the euro zone.

So, who do you have faith in? If your house needs repairs, or your computer breaks down, do you just try and do everything yourself? What if you are in charge of a project and plenty of people would be affected if you bugger it up? I can certainly appreciate a healthy scepticism for self-aggrandising dingbats who think they have all the answers, but I do think there is a balance somewhere between asking the masses to vote on complex issues and have malevolent elites use this as an excuse to make all the decisions benefit themselves.
