I don't know, Pulis might need to write an autobiography now

It'd be odd, would Parish sue over liable / slander or play it up, so that Pulis could earn more royalities to pay off the not inconsiderable sum he now owes.

Its worth noting that not only did the appeal fail, additional damages were levied, along with costs. he owes more now, than he did last year.

No surprise that Messrs Bannan, O'Keefe and Lewis are no longer with the club. To quote the judge they "misremembered' the meeting date that was crucial to Pulis's evidence. Parish and the board knew that all along.

Whatever the truth about the meeting date it's hardly likely that any current player would risk the wrath of the club by giving evidence for Pulis so it's hardly surprising that he had to rely on players who weren't dependant on the club for their living

There must have been something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about and this being a football forum there have been countless people presenting their opinions and guesses as fact but the real truth is that no-one knows and after all this time probably never will

Because he'd have 2m quid, his wages for the job, and be in a prime position to leverage the next 'sacked doomed manager', and have a month or two off.

Having saved Palace from certain relegation with a 13th Place finish, I bet he got a great deal from West Brom to save them, and probably planned to do something similar.

Work six or seven months on wages, take a 2-3m bonus wedge, take a month or two off and then get a new job with higher wages and a better bonus - There will always be a club in trouble, facing relegation in deseperate need, and an owner facing the loss of a 80m-100m a year revenue stream.

I wonder why he wanted out so badly? He had turned things around and should have been excited about what he could have done at Palace. He told Pards to take the job as it was a great opportunity. Doesn't make sense really.

And he put all that work into the pre-season with the training camp (which looked more like a boot camp on the video, which is what our lot need), etc. A disagreement over the transfer policy seems the most likely. SP likes players that will have a sell-on value, unless they're signed on a free, TP is more of a present-dweller and likes anyone he knows who can do a job for a season, irrespective of cost or value. It's not too difficult to see why those two opposites might clash. I suspect it had been building up during the whole close season and it was just us supporters that were taken by surprise.

But who certainly could benefit from being 'recommended by Tony Pulis'

I think he wanted Parish to give him more control over the spending.I doubt Pullis was impressed with Parishes mission to get Wilf back from Man u and would probably have rather spent the money on a couple of 7 foot defenders.

You quoted me saying "there have been countless people presenting their opinions and guesses as fact but the real truth is that no-one knows and after all this time probably never will" and then added your own speculation

As I recall, Pulis was keen to sign Crouch, but SP not so enthusiastic.

I'd say that was a pretty final judgement. He'd be mad to try and pursue it any further.

Optimistic as ever

He did not want Wilf back for sure.

Getting a judgement is only ever half of the battle as getting settlement is the next and possibly much harder step
