Spot on Willo, old bean. I wouldn't think our squad would be good enough to win The Championship were it in it this season.

It is only my humble opinion and of course I could be very wrong, which I am quite often.

Well, if all the teams in the premier league were in the championship, 19 wouldn't win it either including at least 3 of the 'top 4'

Warped logic but I like it

How about if each premier team were pitched in individually? There would be nine or ten you'd expect to walk it and two or three to win by a few points, no?

Seriously I don't think I have ever been as pissed off in the thirty years I have supported us. I have never minded us being s***, but we shouldn't be s*** now. I haven't got a clue what is going on or how to fix it, then again that's not my job. Pity it's not though, I like new York.

Blimey, what league are we in?

..and do you honestly believe for a second that this team is going down?

You need superspecsavers.

This is a results business and if we were performing well and getting them then I couldn't give a stuff if he went to New York, York or New York New York but we haven't and in the order of priorities he as the manager needs to get down to basics as I stated in my opener.
To me being away and publicly photographed sends out completely the wrong message to both the team and the dear old fans.
I would also like to hear him take some responsibility for our failings as if he did then this in turn takes some heat off the team, although in saying this I think the chances of it happening are akin to Charlton getting promoted this season and Donald Trump opening up Trump Tower to the homeless.
Do I like Alan Pardew.....must say that I am not overly keen but we have to look beyond that and whatever our personal feelings are must be careful what we wish for.
Charlton and who knows what may happen with Donald, spring to mind.

..but he has, Leicester away and Liverpool anywhere are way above us at the moment with their choice of players and resources, the Burnley game was a freak that happens every now and again during a season and if you respond with the run from last season like everyone who hasn't a clue does then you really really are silly and ignorant, we have a new formation and new players to get on with and apart from the last three games....in which we did also play some good football and scored in we have had a good season so far considering who we are and how much silly money is flying around with clubs fighting to attract better players, we are a little club in comparison to most in this league and where we are is where we deserve to be at this moment in time, now if we were ten points adrift at the bottom I would too be a little concerned, but we are not and I'm looking forward to getting points tomorrow because we have been attacking well enough to get them and our defence is going to sort itself out starting tomorrow ...watch and enjoy.

An therin lies the problem. We're upgrading our starting 11 each season, but so is everyone else around us. We still have a paper thin squad and any injuries cause us problems.

The fact that we haven't had our 'best' 11 available since Dec last year goes some way to explaining our results.

We need some reinforcements in Jan, I just hope that we can attract the players we want/need.

Exactly mate. Thing is the pro-Pardew camp just wanna forget the 1st 5 months of 2016 as it's 'irrelevant' apparently!!! Even tho we have a lot of the same problems albeit with a few different players now. And they won't be told different either cos we're all in the wrong for looking at the bigger picture! League form doesn't contribute to relegation if you listen to them ...

Let's speak again on Monday when we've got nothing 'again' from a league fixture

And the anti Pardew camp want to forget the first 5 months of last season.

Of course, It doesn't have to be that black and white. From what I've seen the majority of pro Pardew are so with a caveat. That is, we do need to improve. The main difference to me seems to be whether Pardew should get a bit longer to do it and if so how long that should be

I'd give him more time.
We don't look clueless as we have at times in the past (Holloway, Taylor, Smith) and we're not boring (Freedman, Francis).
Yes it is a results business but it is also an entertainment business and overall this season we've looked like a Premiership side but one which is prone to the odd stupid error.

All this talk of bringing in Fat Sam to steady the ship or Bring back Pulis is quite frightening. I thought we'd moved on from this 'Brave Little Palace' up against the big boys and we're now a team capable of taking the game to the opposition.

Now a lot of supporters are getting worried about Pardew's cockiness and are craving a return to defending first and trying to win on the counter attack.

There's been some games we've managed to cock up - Hennessey fumbles, McCarthy fumbles, missed penalties, comedy defending - but we're not getting battered - or even outclassed. If that happens week in week out then we need to change but for me we're playing well and just need a couple of results. Then everyone will say they're so glad we've moved beyond Pulis and his boring football.

Agree that we don't look clueless but very soft at home in particular.

I remember when we last beat City it was through a magnificent and aggressive performance by Murray backed up by quality from Puncheon and speed and directness from our wingers and a brilliant defensive mid performance from MacArthur.

Our football now is slow and turgid until we're losing.

This is almost spot on. We pass the ball far better and DO create chances. Main issue is teams aren't scared of playing us anymore. That is partly due to the less intimidating atmosphere now at Selhurst, but also the fact we dont just try and sit back and hit teams on the counter. I prefer the way we play now, I just wish we were a bit more solid at the back, not one clean sheet this season is not good enough.

It doesn't matter that we are more attractive to watch with the style of play change. What does matter is that we can't defend with this new attacking style. To play the way we are doing now requires four (perhaps three) replacement quality defenders - we will continue to lose if we don't change defensively now with this squad. We aren't good enough to go gun ho unless we score at least four and hope the other team doesn't get five. Pardew has gone from one extreme to the other and it isn't working. You have to play well in all departments to get results in the prem and we can't do that with this squad? I believe he has lost the plot and should have been replaced during this international break. We shall see with the next few matches if us out with Pardew Palace fans are right or not. I hope he proves us wrong and we eat humble pie :-)
