Whilst I appreciate both of your views...having seen Boateng a number of times playing for Plymouth last season he didn't exactly fill me with inspiration. He never pulled any trees up down there and whilst tidy on the ball (rarely turning possession over) he looked a tad...well...lazy. I think getting him more games is certainly a good move for him...hope he gets enough game time to push for a recall! Ricard Cawley of the SLP reckons Boateng was for sale but no clubs matched our valuation. He now has an opportunity to change the managements mind

Not that my life is in anyway any of your business. So that excuses you laying into people you don't agree with

He's better off playing at his level - which lets face it is Championship Yes - I'd drop Puncheon in an instant. Doesn't do enough and just slows the game down. Lee has hardly 'ripped up trees' either. Williams runs at defenders with the ball glued to his feet and will draw fouls all game long. Pardew asked him to show what he could do at the Euros, and he did that. If being an important member of a squad that reached the semi-finals doesn't qualify you to play for Palace then something is wrong.

He also struggles to stay on his feet, doesn't shoot, gets caught out of position and his passing isn't anywhere near as incisive as Punch or Lee.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

I watched Boateng in a few Plymouth games when they were on TV last season and he didn't stand out in League 2. League 1 this season is a good move for him. If he tears it up, there might be something for him. Realistically though, he's 21 in January. It'd take one really big step to hit the heights of McArthur, Cabaye etc. For all the clamour around Mile Jedinak, he is now what a good Championship club owns. That should put Boateng in perspective. The PL is always moving on. For the 20 minute v Swansea argument, you could take a 20 minute segment from all of the players we own which demonstrate them as a Champions League player and another as a non-league player. To go against Pardew's judgement on the basis of that isn't enough. For Kaikai, there's no chance he'd have been starting 20+ games this season. For every Alli who doesn't go out on loan, there's a Harry Kane who does, or John Stones who was at Barnsley, Danny Rose at Bristol City and so on. KaiKai has done very well so far, but only played 27 games above League 2 level. A 40 game season in the championship for a good side won't do him any harm at all, if anything he needs to experience a long season at a good level. Dele Alli has at least done that. The only way to hurt him this season is to let him rot on our bench or given our strength now, probably in the reserves. That won't happen, he'll get game time against some very good sides and that will give him the best chance to succeed.
