Nothing he could do with the goal a great throw to wilf near the end. We have to keep one up when defending corners to make use of his quick distribution.

Looked slow getting down for the goal , if he was Hennessey he would be slaughtered. Did well after that , but top goalkeepers make those type of saves and win you games. Let's wait and see.

The goal was a well placed shot in a packed 6 yard box in Steeeeve's defence. He more than made up for it with that great collection from that one on one though. We'd have been two nil down with Wayne in goal there. The reason that people me included would slaughter Hennessey for letting in goals is that his overall game just wasn't up to the required standard of the premier league. So when he wasn't a very good shot stopper on top of that, it was infuriating to see him in goal week after week. He is a backup keeper at this level. And that's now what he will be.

Have another look, he had clear sight of the ball, it went right past him on the angle he was covering, . he may have even got a slight touch. As I said looked a bit slow getting down and had it been Hennessey we would have a fifty page thread on it.

I'll take your word for it.

Think confidence of our defenders will grow with Steveeee between the sticks. No more messing around AP and play to our strengths the last 35 PL matches, please...

Well, based on a typical Hennessey-type post, I'd say that Mondonda (as we apparently have to pronounce it) could have done a whole lot better for the goal and should be dropped in favour of WH with Speroni on the bench. And I will, from now on, slate and undermine him at every possible opportunity and will declare any decent performance as a fluke or that 'he had nothing to do', and that includes the Euros, as it's the Palace way
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Should probably have saved the goal but looked good for the rest of the game. Will be a good number 1 for the next few seasons.

I noticed on one particular cornerkick, Steve was trying to organise the defense and was telling Benteke to get upfield but Punch was confusing Benteke by telling him to stay put. They will have to sort out this miscommunication pretty damn quick. Steve seemed to know what he was doing and Punch should have kept quiet. Cannot have too many chiefs in defense. Steve and Dann should go for a beer and sort this out before the other less defensive players try and tell them their jobs.

Starting in goal for France v Belarus tonight. Live on SS2 at the moment. Haven't heard the French fans shout Steve yet.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |
