There seem to be rumours around now about Livermoore from Hull coming in as DM? This guy can also play CB apparently so the flexibility might appeal to BFS? Cant see why Hull would flog him to a relegation rival though

He has played as a makeshift centre-half.

Isn't that what Petereagle said?

To be fair to Willo, I don't think it was. 'Can also play at' suggests a level of competence in an alternative position (e.g. 'can play at LB or LW'). Where as 'makeshift' infers used in an emergency or when there isn't an alternative, like Kelly at LB. Jagielka went in goal once at Selhurst Park, but I don't think you'd put 'can also play in goal' on his CV

Lookes like he is going to the Toones

Everton's James McCarthy has been backed today for a move to Newcastle and is now 2/1 for that switch.

Great move for the toons. They mean business to return to PL, and they have been missed (well, by me!)

I think M'Vila is still the no 1 choice for DM if Big Sam can get him, but McCarthy would come into play if the M'Vila deal doesn't happen for some reason. The good news for Palace is that BFS clearly wants a good DM over the line by the end of the window

Big Sam hasnt made progress signing any of his preferred DMs so might go back in for McCarthy, who hasnt really managed to force his way into the Everton starting line up. On the other hand, he is still a good player and already is adjusted to the PL

McCarthy back on the wish list it seems. This near the end of the window, Big Sam just has to go for one option now, and get ut iver the line. McCarthy might be BFS's least favorite option, but might also be the most achievable. I guess the best option for Palace might be a loan to end of season with option to buy, if Everton were willing?

The Russian transfer window didn't open until today so that doesn't leave much time although I guess if there was genuine interest we would have already been in touch

If you speak to Warnock he will tell you that he has rated Jagielka one of the best 'cover' keepers in the country.I might be wrong but I have a feeling that Warnock never felt the need to have a sub keeper on the bench as he could rely on Jagielka if the keeper got injured.

Yes, Warnock has always talked a lot of BS hasn't he? That piece of 'inside information' merely serves to confirm that.
