8 million represents very good value for me. Certainly need another player good enough for the first team out wide.

I think he would be a great signing.

I think this would give us a bit of tactical flexibility, as others have said it could let Pardew play Bolasie centrally with no hampering to our width and pace. It will also mean better options off the bench; Puncheon, Townsend or Wilf to bring on will make opposition defences nervous. I've had my reservations about him before but for 8 Million he represents a better option than say Oxlade Chamberlin who would be double that. Edited by Mad4palace (05 Jun 2016 12.03pm)

Bolassie isn't very good at playing the forward role. There are times I a game, particularly second half where it works but his finishing for a forward is woeful.

Would be a good signing, gives us a different option. Every time the opposition go down to 10 for instance, they sit back and then Zaha and Bolasie become completely ineffectual. Having someone like Townsend floating around would be ideal, particularly with the size of our team to get on the end of his crosses.

On that point, we crucially need a creative deep lying midfielder. Too often Cabaye has been off the pitch when we need to dominate the possession late in games. Puncheon can do more of an advanced creative role but the passing from Jedinak, Ledley, Ward, Delaney etc is excruciatingly slow and predictable when oppositions sit back.

Could there be any merit in looking at Schweinstigier as well. Not sure he'd be good enough still. Understand he struggled at United but maybe he could do a job for us?

We found one way to win games when Pards came in and it didn't last forever. If we've got 3 or 4 match winning styles to choose from, teams won't be able to setup so well against us.
