He is one the best young strikers in Europe and a move to London and regular first team football could be an attraction. The fee would be 20-25 million, but would be money well spent. If Palace genuinely intend to become a top 8 team then some real intent needs to be shown now.

Steven Fletcher has just signed on loan for Marseille. Given our habit of buying players who we have been linked with for a long time and don't forget that tweet referring to a trip to Marseille could this be a possibility?

I saw earlier today (3:30 ish) that Gayle had been spotted on a train to Swansea (was reported on BBC transfer day feed). Wonder if this is the case then if Gayle is signed in time then it may free up some of the funds to meet this guys buy out clause. However its getting very late in the day for all that to come together and there is no chance of him getting to selhurst in time or even do a medical.
