I'm no troll, I've posted on these boards sporadically for years.

I never questioned his footballing abilities and like I said he's always impressed me on the pitch.

I know when someone's had a skinful and he had as was obvious from his behaviour inside and outside the club (Cirque, Ganton Street).

I saw him a month or so ago at the same venue and didn't post anything as what he does is his own business. But like I said seeing Wilf and Wickham out with him was a bit of a worry as although he maybe able to handle it, it's not a good example to the younger pros. Albeit - as I said in my post - they seemed sober.

For the record Wilf seemed like a nice kid but Wickham not so much.

How sure are you that is was Chamakh?

Because a month or so ago was Ramadam. Not only is Chamakh a practising Muslim but he also fasts during Ramadam, except for match days and the day before, which he'll make up fasting at the end of Ramadam.

There are no two people on this earth with that haircut.

Ramadam or not, practicing or lapsed, it was Chamakh and he was brahms. His business, just don't like the idea of him dragging others down with him.

Has he "dragged" then down, if they were sober!!? Surely they can go out on days off.

So you think it's a good idea for professional athletes to be falling out of clubs at 3 in morning having just had 6 weeks off to fall out of as many clubs as they liked?

Wilf and Wickham were pretty sober but the way they were behaving with Chamakh shouting his mouth off... if I were a pap I could easily have taken photos and tarred them all with the same brush.

So are you saying players cannot go out during the season? This is planet earth you know. Was it 3 in the morning the day of a game?

Have you had a bang on the head Peter Parker? I live on planet earth where the tabloids like nothing more than hanging footballers out to dry. What got more column inches on Sunday, Vardy's performance in a thrilling 4-2 opening day victory or his 'racist slurs'?

Whilst I was watching those 3 clowns falling about I could almost read the copy in the morning paper "after vowing to make a fresh start £8m signing Connor Wickham was pictured staggering out of a Soho club at 3 in the morning with a visibly drunk, "injured" Marouane Chamakh and young starlet Wlfried Zaha...." Not big news but you could spin it to fill a few column inches.

Of course they should celebrate success but they should be a bit more subtle and responsible about it.

If the £50k a week salary doesn't compensate them for the sacrifices they have to make as elite athletes then they're in the wrong game.

I thought you said it was only Chamakh who was stumbling about? This story gets better with each new version.

I find it interesting that you're crticising the tabloids, while at the same time you are clearly outraged at these players' alleged behavior.

Jesus Christ. I was giving an example of how a newspaper could spin it. Chamakh was falling over Wickham and you could easily have captured that image as both of them staggering about.

I'm not outraged at all. No skin of my nose what they get up to.

However looking at the bigger picture they need to be a bit more savvy how they behave in public and if they think they can juggle late nights and a career as a professional athlete they need to wise up.

Wickham and Zaha were not drunk and appeared perfectly sober according to the OP's report. No problem there then.

Chamakh is injured/recovering and not yet in the first team plans so has a week or two where his training, if any right now, is not intense. No problem there then.

They only fast between sunrise and sunset , probs waited for sunset before hitting the club (I'm not saying he was drinking though!)

Yes of course!

Having said that though...if he hadn't eaten all day then you could forgive him for having one drink and seeming to be quite wasted.

Also...I have Chamakh hair so two people in the world (at least) do have it...maybe it was me you saw stumbling about?!

The three of them were falling about - ever tried to support one of your mates whose being a drunken liability, or try and get them to go in a direction they don't want to go? When they were outside deciding on where to go next Chamakh was careering into the both of them and others in their entourage. Can you not picture the scene, never been outside a club/pub at kicking out time, do I have to spell everything out?

I give up. Westerham Eagle, Bubblewrap and I are all in denial. In fact I made the whole thing up just to get attention, it was a bonus that two others had seen similar.

Then why keep banging on about it, when I used to play it never stopped me from going for night out, life's not all about work, you have to relax sometime.

I have to keep banging on because people keep missing the point and asking me to clarify. If you had read the thread, which is exhaustive, you'll see I agree and have said the same in terms of celebrating success.

Any way, bored to tears now and the Daily Mail have completely blown me out the water with their recent story so I'll bow out.

Then why keep banging on about it, when I used to play it never stopped me from going for night out, life's not all about work, you have to relax sometime.

All part of the game when playing for the pub team though isn't it.

Funnily enough I did play in a charity match once against a pub team, and they had some bloody good players, Barry John, and Gareth Edwards, were two and they were very good, Barry John could easily have played pro football if he hadn't chosen to play with those men with odd shaped balls. Another was Frank Donovan exSwan, he also played for GB in the 1948 Olympics, another exSwan was Mal Morris, that particular pub team was full of expro's, and a couple of budding pro's Ian Walsh being one and Gareth Davis who was on the books at Palace as a junior.
