Talksport and The Sun are both Murdoch's but Talksport do select which stories to broadcast and they must give this some credibility - Cabaye will have bigger and better options but he may like the idea of using us a stepping stone for a year's loan, the Pardew link is significant and there has been reference to Mark Bright and other sources indicating marquee signings - this would be less of a shock than Lombardo - Parrish & co do have a vision and they know how to sell it.
They are not. Murdoch was part of the consortium that set it up but he sold his stake ten years ago I'm sure they are related somehow, you always hear talksport advertising sky if you listen regularly, because of this I assumed they were linked,

Also I really hope we sign cabaye..lethal really would be a statement of intent, even if on loan. A French international midfielder in his prime...I've got a semi already.

Why would he want to come to us though, we're not in europe. He's a european quality player who wants to get in the france team for the euros, doesn't make much sense to come here over someone like spurs, southampton, even west ham unfortunately It makes perfect sense.

A loan would be great however I just can't justify spending £10 million (as is rumoured) on a player in a position that we don't particularly need. An out and out striker and a centre back are this summers must buys for us. As much as a rate Cabaye, I can't help but feel we're spending for the sake of spending if it does happen. Get me Cisse and Micah Richards!

We do need strengthening in that area, let's face it.

We do need strengthening in that area, let's face it. We really don't. Jedi McArthur, Ledley, yes. Mutch hasn't even cranked into gear yet - will come good. Guedioura - who says he's going to Watford? He's got a whole preseason to impress. Bannan, I'm not really sure how he's problematic? He's class. Williams, fair enough. Injury prone. You also forgot the fact that Puncheon now plays in the centre. And Chamakh plays #10 too. So we've got Jedinak, McArthur, Ledley, Guedioura, Bannan, Mutch, Williams, Puncheon and Chamakh (and Ward at a push), That's 9 players for 3 positions. And you don't think we've got depth there?? IN SAYING ALL OF THIS....to move forward...it's all about continually upgrading. And I have to say, Cabaye is definitely that. So would love to see him at Selhurst.

STRENGTH is another, my friend. Fair points though. Agree with you on Bannan. He is class. But Pulis, Warnock, Pardew and even Millen have never been interested in consistently playing him. He's hardly making a name for himself at a bang average club a league below us and doesn't seem to cut the mustard for his country either. Seems harsh, but surely fair. I hope he proves me wrong, because when he's got the ball at his feet, he can be magic. Mutch will come good, yeah. I think we are some of the few on here that reckon he will. But as I said, IF he comes good, he's the best of a relatively average bunch in terms of backup. We've got depth, mate. No disputing that. But it's not depth we need anymore, it's strength.

Yeah...fair call I suppose. I guess my thoughts are if you assume that the starting 3 are Jedinak, McArthur and Puncheon....that leaves Ledley, Chamakh, Mutch, Chongy (forgot about him before) in the bench....without even thinking about Guedioura/Bannan etc. That's a pretty strong looking bench for me. We're not far off agreeing though Sounds like we'd both love to see YC here.

"The thought of the inspirational midfielder ending up at Palace whilst we gamble on some untried, relatively unknown, foreign budget import, isn’t a pleasant one." Love it! At Palace we've never really done the big name thing so I'm not sure how this would affect the changing room. Hopefully he's no big time charlie and if he comes he'll bring another level of quality with him.
