I thought Guardians of the Galaxy was pretty good too. Didn't really buy into the special weapon they had or how the villains managed just to be all-powerful without any explanation of how they got their power. I know it's sci-fi but with Star Wars we know why Darth Vader is powerful: the force and the Emperor. Here it was just - here are the villains, they're almost unbeatable just accept it.

Its a 'super hero' comic book - The Kree are basically a race of super humans (typically Villains) due to their superior technology / genetic meddling etc.

Basically, though, most of the races and villains in guardians of the galaxy come from early Marvel comics series, where they'd clash with The Avengers and X-Men - which generally required they had to be 'super villains'.

Many of these stories are too terribly bad to be committed to film.

Cheers. If I'd researched it I could have found that out. Just annoying that it wasn't explained at all in the film. Or maybe I missed something. I suppose that's the problem with making a film based on a series no one really knows anything about already. Paid off though.

I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry.

I'm not very good at writing a review for a film so I will sum up the last film I saw with one word:

Prometheus - Rubbish!

Last film I watched was 'Friends with benefits' which is hard to admit to really. I can state for the record that there are no full frontals of Mila Kunis and the sex scenes are faker than the worst Ron Jeremy video - so no point in watching it at all.
Don't worry about the story line and dialogue - the screen/script writers, producers and director clearly didn't.
Last film I liked was 'The Hurtlocker'. Thought it had some genuine points about frontline soldiers and some interesting ideas in general.

Rubbish does not go far enough. Ridley Scott should retire now instead of churning out such dross.

50/50 [via Netflix]
7.5/10 - not expecting much but pleasantly surprised. Decent enough acting, obvious plot, few funny bits, easy watching.

Grand Budapest Hotel
8/10 - enjoyable, 'quirky', film carried by RF. Again easy viewing.

Taken 3= 6/10.
Better then I feared it would be and would've got a 7 if it hadn't been for the action bits being so shaky and blurry! I found myself squinting during the car chase so I didn't give myself epilepsy!
