YB then we need a similar player to replace him because he is integral to our playing style. You don't know that because you don't know the rest of the transfer jigsaw puzzle. If Cabaye comes in to play the free midfield role, Puncheon is freed to replace Bolasie on the wing so we already have a replacement. Is Punch as exciting as Yala? Probably not, but he's a different sort of player and he gives us far more goals. Cabaye in the hole and Puncheon wide makes us a better team than Puncheon in the hole and Yala wide in my view. If, and only if, Spurs pay our asking price and if we sign Cabaye or a similar quality player then there are situations where it would make sense to allow YB to go for a vast sum. With all that said, I too would prefer to keep him AND add Cabaye to the mix.

Puncheon isnt good enough on the wing, not for a counter attacking team, he lacks pace. However, if we change our style to more possession, considering the players we are being linked with, then puncheon on the wing is fine, as i doubt we'll be playing counter attacking for much longer...

No I don't know that but I'm going by what we have at this moment because no one knows what the team we will be come August. At the moment i see we need fast skilful players on the wing to cause damage on the counter if we are to continue similar football although I suspect we're not with Pardews comments last year about possession etc. I also agree in certain situations if it frees up extra money to get players in of Cabayes ilk then yeah if Pardew as a plan he needs to do it especially if it makes us stronger in the long run but I was only basing my comments on Adebayor and IMO he is in the ilk of Cabaye quality wise or at least he was but he's temperamental and it's whether he can be bothered so I'm not sure that's the right move and then thinking through Spurs players he would be the only player there that we could realistically target of that type of quality that I'd think would suit us but as you said if it frees money up for other moves and qaulity players and Pardew has a plan then fair enough.

I guess stat's don't lie. But from all the times I saw him...he was constantly getting caught in possession running the ball out from the wing. Cost us a couple of goals. One at home to spurs I beleive. But hey ho. He's a decent winger. ...just better central. Not sure if chung lees got more pace? Edited by matthau (15 Jun 2015 9.31pm)

If Spurs take Bolasie we better go after Salah hard. Lad's not as exciting as Yannick but he can finish. I hope Adebayor is popping up to drive the price of Remy down.

There's far too much paper talk going on. I'm taking a break from all this and unsubscribing from all Transfer Talk threads.

Means he can pass 180 going forward rather than on the wing sometimes he seems to keep the ball alot longer than in the middle. It's also brilliant for him to have Yannick and Wilf either side making super runs. I reckon Chungy is a ready made replacement for all three across the AM should any go. Fully expect him to play a big part next year.

Think Spurs are in for Salah I read but then they wouldn't be in for Bolasie or vica versa so if they did get Bolasie then we wouldn't have the competition from them at least. I agree though don't think we would get Salah he's young so a big club are more likely to take a punt on him unlike Cabaye or Remy so I'd say they were more realistic.

I can't see how there can be any truth in this. Why would we need a 31 year old who could get us 10-15 goals next season when we already have exactly that in Glenn Murray?
