Unfortunately it looks like Jules has taken the decision to leave Palace. If that means he turns out for another club, presumably from the lower reaches of the league, I for one will wish him luck and contribute to a golden handshake. He has become as big a legend as John Stonewall Jackson and deserves our gratitude whatever or wherever he deems to do and go. Good luck Jules and thanks for the memories.

Where's a quote?

In anticipation. Jules will leave one day. OR DO YOU NOT THINK SO?

Sounds like backtracking to me. Of course he's going to leave one day. Everyone will leave eventually. But you're saying that he's going to leave at the end of this season and I'm afraid I'm going to have to challenge you again on this point: what grounds do you have for thinking that's the case (other than just an unsubstantiated hunch)?

So did Quasimodo

and now Fred Davis will try for the pink, for those watching in black n white its just behind the green..........

Shilton learnt from Banks as his No 2

And Banks who was a World Cup Winner the previous year and a hero at Leicester was sold to Stoke and replaced by the young Shilton.

Every time Pulis is questioned on Speroni's form in interviews, he seems to dismiss Jules and talks about it being a team game, don't think I have ever heard him praise him? Speroni is in the form of his life, and no way can he be replaced on form alone. I am hoping Speroni is given a new deal, and then it's up to Pulis to decide who he feels deserves the number 1? It's great to know we have two top keepers at the club, Hennessey needs to wait for his chance.

Just hope parish's loyalty towards Speroni doesn't cause a rift with TP as Hennessey is Pulis's man.

At the moment we do NOT know if Hennessey is a Top Keeper.(Certainly i do not).
Pulis signed him so obviously does not rate Price or Alexander.
When Jules joined Palace he was poor.
Actually lost his position.
However over the Years he has excelled and regained NO 1 and is now a TOP TOP keeper.
Why a rift.?
If Pulis wants Jules which i am sure he does a Contract will be offered then its up to Jules to say yes or no.

My view is that Speroni will be offered a contract but with no guarantees he will start as No 1 next season as Pulis will adopt the "Clean slate" approach.

I'd find it hard to believe he was leaving considering his restaurant in Purley is still in its infancy and his wife had that interview where she said she was settled in East Grinstead. Where can he move, Brighton?

Incidentally, I meant to say, if this was Julian's last game, or last home game, it's a disgrace.

He's had the season of his life, and all those 1-0 wins and clean sheets didn't happen by chance. Hennessey may be good but he wasn't good enough to be a regular in a Wolves team relegated 2 years running.

I back Pulis in most areas (youth development, anyone?), but if he seriously thinks Hennessey is a better bet then he is misguided.

He doesn't.
He does not rate Alexander or Price that's why Hennessey is here.
Jules contract has not expired yet.

£3m is a lot to pay for a reserve.

Well this will happen more and more now.
As we hopefully progress and TP brings in one or two new players that are better than what we have ,they will cost more etc.

We already have expensive Subs
Ince valued at £5 mill ?
Gayle valued at £whatever it was.?

I thought that Jules and Marina live in Limpsfield.

Adrian B - Your words were "unfortunately, it looks like Jules has taken the decision to leave Palace" - in no way does that imply that eventually everyone leaves, that means that you 'think' he's taken that decision, something he has done or said has given you that impression.

Personally, from what we've heard, I think he wants to stay and Parish wants him to.

Jordan98X - who has 'told you' all this guff?

and on the opposite slant;

Kajagogo - He part owns a restaurant in Purley, he doesn't work there, doesn't need to be anywhere near it for it to still trade. IF he were to leave, he's hardly going to take it with him is he? And if he did, it's not going to close down either. He and his wife are obviously settled here, he's been in the area for 10 years but given the chance of another 5yrs somewhere and no doubt on a higher wage given his history, dont you think he'd take it if he was being shoo'ed out?

would we have stayed up without Speroni? Tough to say - I would say - no. 4 time POTY - going to leave on a free. That sounds mental

I doubt whether anyone will be offered guarantees and if Tony Pulis will be operating a "clean slate approach" whatever that may mean, he should therefore start with Speroni in goal as he has done nothing wrong to be forgiven for and in fact has done just the opposite this season

All I will say is that there are some premises in this statement.
