Well, because Moody had a contract with Cardiff plus a Settlement Agreement that almost certainly had a clause in it that he couldn't use any inside information to which he was party.

Apparently the result of a punch up before the Fulham-Villa game the week before: Culverhouse and Gordon Cowans put in a few rounds.

It is only a worry if there was something in their contract with Ian Moody. However - he got the push I believe so it unlikely he had to sign anything unless he got a big pay-off. If he signed something then it is more likely to be an employment issue than something concerning the Premier League. I suspect this is Cardiff not only clutching at straws but also trying to unsettle a Team above them. If they knew this happened before the game then they should have reported it then - not now. I can't see us having points deducted somehow. It is a side show which Palace seem to be avoiding joining in which is a good sign.

But assuming the Guardian is correct he signed a Settlement Agreement. So yes, the confidentiality clauses are almost certainly re-validated.
