isnt it more likely that Bolasie rang Wilf and asked him what the teams were seeing as they're such good mates?

No, the club was specific it didn't come from a player.

I'm sure Cardiff would have asked Wilf (a Man United player) to give them a few pointers on Palace players strengths and weaknesses.

I cant see how this would be any different to Moody tapping up a Cardiff contact for their planned teamsheet.

Well, because Moody had a contract with Cardiff plus a Settlement Agreement that almost certainly had a clause in it that he couldn't use any inside information to which he was party.

Palace of course would not have that over Wilf, may have had when he first left but it would be out of date by now.

I think this complaint has some merit. If so it seems to me it's a contractual issue and at worst would result in an award of damages to Cardiff. But these are notoriously hard to prove so I doubt they would have any joy.

No idea if there could be a breach of FA rules.

Maybe we made a few phone calls to the Villa staff too? That's obviously how we managed to beat them also... [Link]

Conspiracy theorists will have great fun with this now!

Apparently the result of a punch up before the Fulham-Villa game the week before: Culverhouse and Gordon Cowans put in a few rounds.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

It is only a worry if there was something in their contract with Ian Moody.
However - he got the push I believe so it unlikely he had to sign anything unless he got a big pay-off.
If he signed something then it is more likely to be an employment issue than something concerning the Premier League.
I suspect this is Cardiff not only clutching at straws but also trying to unsettle a Team above them.
If they knew this happened before the game then they should have reported it then - not now.
I can't see us having points deducted somehow.
It is a side show which Palace seem to be avoiding joining in which is a good sign.

I guess it is likely that Moody had a confidentiality clause in his contract.

If he breached it, he can be sued.

If the club encouraged that breach, or could have prevented it but did not, then it also could be sued.

Presumably it would be sued for damages, so Cardiff would have to prove the damages. If Cardiff goes down but would have stayed up had it had three more points this could - in theory - become a problem.

Mind you, if Moody was unfairly dismissed that may impact upon this. I am guessing there was a Settlement Agreement in place, it would be interesting to know what it had to say on confidentiality but likely it reinforced the requirement.

No, he was dismissed pretty unceremoniously so that contract is no longer valid, as Tan is in breach of contract.

Look at this way, if Sunderland can field in an inelligible player for 4 games this season and only get fined, it will be absolutely ridiculous if we get anything more than that. And anyway, i really don't see it as a massive issue. If a member of staff at Cardiff did give the teamsheet to Moody, it's their fault. Obviously Moody shouldn't be asking, but it didn't end up being a major factor, neither team changed their starting line up, and regardless we probably would have smashed them anyway. They were awful.

Even if we asked for info on their team selection and somebody gave it to us we did not steal it and I can only see it as being their fault. Sounds all a bit childish to me and I think its a sign of their desperation as they go down.

But assuming the Guardian is correct he signed a Settlement Agreement. So yes, the confidentiality clauses are almost certainly re-validated.

2 days before the game, Ole Gunnar wotsit said in the paper that he had told Wilf to celebrate if he scored a goal.

That suggests to me that OGS told the World that Wilf would be playing.

So is Tan sueing OGS too?

He said "when", not "if". He was wrong and this is pure bollocks.

We've done nothing and nothing can or will happen to us.

As I understand it Moody's dismissal is the subject of an unfair dismissal claim, if so he's hardly likely to have signed any contract of silence.
