Both Southampton in the FA Cup semi-final in '76 and Leicester in the '96 play-off final were bad moments but Charlton in 2005 to go down on the final day was worse as I'd been to every game that season...

1990 Cup Final, so close, remember my Dad saying to me, when walking out of Wembley, we will never be that close to winning the FA Cup again, and this was when the FA Cup was so special, I was only 15, but had grew up watching cup finals year after year, and dreaming of reaching a cup final. The replay was such a s*** game, kind of new we wouldn't get a second bite of the cherry...

Seeing Ian Wright on the back of the paper, holding up an Arsenal shirt.

Claridge and his shin, was so cruel,Wembley feels so far from home, when beaten, felt so sick, but made Hopkins a year later even more sweeter.

Relegated at Charlton, on the day after my 30th birthday, and to add to the pain, being given an Andy Johnson signed shirt for my birthday, by my family, and my dad saying with AJ scoring that day, he thought we were going to do it. Never thought I would see AJ in a palace shirt again, but of course we had another season.

The recent administration was very painful, seemed much worse than the previous. We really were very close to being just memories.

Plenty, but one that still wrankles is the Cup Semi in 76 and it still hurts today - My 9 year old self genuinely thought we were going to win the FA Cup

Sash i had a £1 WIN on us at 250-1.!!!!
From the First Round.
Saw all the games in that Cup Run.

Alan I went to every game in that cup run,but my mind is playing tricks with me.
Did we play Scarboro in the first round?

No Walton & Hersham then Millwall.

See attached.

Leicester play off final aged 10 remembering they was bringing on that 10ft goalkeeper for penalties....I hate Steve claridge and I will do till the day i die. Remember looking up at my dad in disbelief saying with my eyes "did that just happen"
All these lows make you love who you support and make the good times better, I'd hate to support united or Chelsea and expect to win week after week. They'll never feel the jubilation like I felt at hillsborough, winning to stay up on the last day of the season.
F&cking love you palace

What a great thread, bringing back so many memories, mostly painful, but a good reminder of what it takes to be a Palace fan and why the occasional highs we get mean so much to us.

This thread could go on a while

So close that day to another cup final, not sure who the other finalist were but we would have stood a chance of winning it I reckon...

Cup final replay, being relegated at Charlton, getting stuffed 5-0 at Oxford (I don't think I have ever been so cold, wet and miserable), having a strike force combo of Aylott and Langley!

Everton, who won the cup, we'd have had a good chance.

Wembley 96... Cried my eyes out and was only 8 but the one that really stands out that made me feel physically sick will always be Jonathan Fortune's Goal .... I really have some Hate for that Guy ! And Sky Sports for showing all the West Brom Fans invading the pitch !

Had to go bed early that day lol
