Expect rugby shirts for sale in the club shop... The branding is already done

Mixed feelings. Whilst I adore the history aspect, and 1861 just scans lovely, I struggle with the Blue & White. I mean both Millwall AND Brighton?

Would take a lot of getting used to.

I just read an article in a written in a very aggressive tone saying that this is an outright lie.

So it must be true.

I dont trust people who get angry on the internet. It's like when people keep banging on about how "science" has proved the earth is a sphere and dinosaurs existed.

We all know that the earth is flat, Paxton invented dinosaurs, and after god created Adam and Eve he created Crystal Palace....prove me wrong.

My question is if the Crystal Palace Company was the majority shareholder why didn't the club return to the Crystal Palace football ground when World War I was over? Did the Admiralty retain it for a period or did they leave when the war ended or shortly after?

We've seen this claim before and I thought it was pretty much rubbished.

Where's the history, records of players and games played - there's a 30 year gap that needs filling.

Looks like that wind you claimed I was pissing against a few years ago when I brought this subject up has changed direction Bexleydave.... what say you now ?

Exactly the same as I said then.

Are there a set of FA rules that this claim can be tested against?

If there isn't then this just becomes a talking point and no doubt other clubs will also dig up their claims for changing their start date.

Im of the opinion that we should claim the honour of being the Worlds oldest club even if the history was a bit disjointed back in the 19th C .
The only current club name to appear in the first ever FA cup will do for me .The professional takeover in 1905 is akin to a club being brought out of administration with a new board . It doesn't mean the club did not exist before .
I think the previous owners have missed a trick here , the marketing opportunities worldwide are enormous

Sorry but who cares worldwide if it’s us or Sheffield Utd are the oldest clubs in the country, world or universe? If you can’t win the premier league you’re almost irrelevant.

I agree with Bexleydave on this. Leave it as it is and concentrate on today. There’s a 30 year gap anyway and let’s not give more reason to be a laughing stock.

Can the club get a new main stand built to replace the one built in 1924 after announcing it would? Maybe concentrate on getting this done might be more beneficial.
