It may only be in the Mirror but I can't help but feel there is no smoke without fire on this one. Surely when TP joined he would have been given a budget for January and would have had the wage structure explained to him. He is clearly frustrated that we have not got any players in yet and us quite an old fashioned manager in terms if him and his staff conduct transfer dealings. He was openly critical of another team recently with a technical director running transfers.
We know from the last windo that apart from signing cheques SP should stay clear. I can't help but feel that's things are not right with TP and SP most probably over transfers and that to date and with a week to go our recruitment guru Mr Moody has delivered nothing.
I hoped we would have one or two in for the Hull game. This is the first game where our lack of signing quality could cost us points over a mini league rival who has already spent to try and stay up.
Let's see what happens I guess.

if he quits then we dont have to pay up his contract...thats fine by me.

i know he is doing a good job,but i still prefer the owners choice of player signings over his.

Then why not get rid of Tony Pulis and let Steve Parish manage instead

Or maybe Ian J, with Shakespeare Sydney, replacing Moody, so then you 2 can attract & buy the quality players we so need at Selhurst Park.

at the end of the day...this is the 1st time in my lifetime (bar el tel) that weve actually had a big name manager at the club, its good, but you are bound to have more situations like this as a by product of employing such manager.

if he wants to bitch & moan then let him...in a weeks time he cant do anything about it and has to get on with his job for the rest of the season.

Crazy. Over TP, an experienced PL Manager. I fear this rings true though, SP has far too much input into the players TP wants. Have a budget for transfer fees and wages and let him get in with it. If TP does not get players in he feels are the ones he wants and not the closing down sales SP visited last time then TP will be gone anyway IMO

the owners have a blueprint on how they want to take the club forward.

and signing (for example) crouch & etherington for big money & massive wages isnt a wise move surely? youve gotta imagine crouch is on (easily) in excess of 50k per week, and etherington maybe 40k a week.

so you pay maybe 8m for the pair...then somewhere near 100k a week in wages on the 2 players and then in 18months time youve got nothing to sell to make any money back!

it makes no sense! none whatsoever...i cant see how buying peter crouch gives us a better chance of survival.

Only the £60M PL money.

I would have thought TP will walk if he doesnt get the players he has asked for.

Why employ a top manager, promise him funds and then dont deliver your promise. TP told SP that players were wanted at the beginning of the window, here we are in the last week of the window and not 1 player has crossed the line. What exactly is Ian Moody doing? He was brought in as the messiah for transfers as SP f***ed up so badly in the summer. Waste of money so far.

Those that think this squad of players can stay up are deluded, we are the lowest scorers in the league, please tell me where goals are going to come from?

Got to slacken the purse strings to stay up.

TP stated that it was hard to get players to go to Stoke, seems the same can be said for CP.

We will know if sp f***ed up during the summer at the end of the season. Admittedly a few mistakes were made but under the circumstances i personally feel that they are acceptable.

I heard from a good source that TP and moody, don't get on, it seems that SP has now gone on holiday to Bermuda, at what can only be described as an important time for this football club.
Shouldn't be surprised really, we always seem to make a hash of things during the transfer window. Has moody done anything yet? We are probably the last to know what's happening, perhaps by the end of the week we will be doing cartwheels with utter delight at our new signings!!.........and there again perhaps not.
I would love us to compete in the premiership, but we have to spend, not only to compete, but just survive, if we can't do this then we're back in the championship next season. Maybe we can survive with what we have? Or maybe not, but it would give us a better chance with some quality signings, but if they don't want to come to palace then...........

There must be so truth in the story as also article in The Sun and The People all saying TP unhappy at Parish .I feel that the club has to help him out as what we have at the moment is just good enough. If we got a couple of decent players in TP will keep us up.

TP might be frustrated but he's an employee and on a huge salary and needs to get on with the job in hand. If he goes at the end of the season so be it but as we know its in his interests to stay and keep us in the PL as he will will make huge bonuses.

Perhaps not everyone is motivated purely by money. Tony Pulis has an excellent reputation as a manager and he won't want to lose that because of a chairman who promises him the earth to get him to join then breaks his promises once the ink is dry on the contract.

do you know thats the case?

i wouldav imagined (neither of us know) that there was a ballpark figure on money available for transfers, not an agreement to buy certain players.

I can confirm that SP 'over projected' the January budget to TP when Pulis was interviewed.

Although you do make some good points, I think you're too firmly in the anti-Parish/CPFC 2010 camp really. You don't think Pulis is motivated by money, yet he took a £1.5m contract? Also, your spin on the transfer scenario may well be true, and if that's the case then I agree that the owners should look to sell up. Equally, it could be the case that Pulis is in agreement with Parish, and no player has come along in the correct wage bracket. The two players we've been firmly linked towards, Dann and Sissoko, want more than the going rate, and it's probable that both Pulis and Parish agreed that they weren't worth it. Also, there's no chance that CPFC 2010 lied to get Pulis in the job, they're clever men and it's painstakingly obvious that that method would backfire.

Your story is quite possibly true, but it's based on small bits of evidence and I don't think you can follow it with certainty

To win a case in the High Court you have to prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt but the County Court works on the balance of probabilities and you are correct that I can't prove anything beyond a shadow of a doubt but the balance of probabilities is a completely different matter and stringing together a lot of circumstantial evidence and rumour brings me to the conclusion that all is not right at Selhurst Park.

I wouldn't accuse anyone of lying as that is a very emotive word but it is entirely possible that Steve Parish changed his mind in much the same way that I don't think that Dougie Freedman lied with his "job half done" comment but he had a change of heart too.

I think that Parish is a bit out of his depth in the Premiership and has changed his views several times already. When we were promoted I complained at the time about his continued negative sound bites as his first comment was that there would be no marquee signings and then he complained that they had been interested in a number of players but they were all too expensive.

It looked like we would get no-one except the rejects that no-one else wanted but it was fairly obvious that Parish then realised that if he wanted to play with the big boys he would have to pay the big boys fees so right at the eleventh hour we started to look at more expensive options like Chamakh, Bendtner and Bent.

Whatever master plan we had backfired and we were haemorrhaging points like crazy until Holloway left. It was fairly obvious to Parish that the squad wasn't good enough for the Premiership so he employed Tony Pulis with the promise that funds would be available to strengthen the squad in January.

Tony Pulis wove his magic and our squad of losers suddenly improved beyond all recognition and from being worried that we would beat Derby's worst ever points total we actually improved sufficiently to move out of the relegation zone and I think that it was probably at that point that Steve Parish decided that we could we could probably stay up without spending any more money so he changed his mind again.

What makes me think that this scenario has the ring of truth is that Tony Pulis can hardly come out and complain about his chairman in from of Sky's cameras so he drops some non attributable hints to a journalist friend who runs the story for him. Isn't that what any of us would do in the circumstances?

Marange
Dobbie
Phillips
Gayle
Jerome
Campana
Hunt

Theres 7 mistakes, players not good enough for the prem at present.

Please dont say some of these are for the future, its NOW we need players.

Wouldnt be acceptable if it was my money that was being spent.
