Get well soon Geoff. Someone of your quality will have no trouble getting those cells and marrow organised properly. You were deserved captain through the best Palace era we've ever known and those of us lucky enough to experience that will never forget you (I'm just picturing you running now, hahaha..... errrr...sorry, but you did run funnily). Anyway, you just can't forget happiness (and sometimes ecstacy) like that and I for one would like to take this opportunity to thank you for some of the best memories of my life. The feelings at the time were just unbelievable. I've always wanted to ask you one question though - was your FA Cup goal against Cambridge a misskick? Edited by TorontoEagle (25 Jul 2003 12:11am)

Words cannot express how deeply sorry I was to read of your diagnosis earlier this evening. My thoughts and prayers will of course be with you and your famiiy at this time as you proceed along your road to recovery. In our memories of you in your playing days, we remember not only your skill as a player, but also your fearless determination, bravery, tenacity and endurance, qualities which rightly earned you the deep respect and admiration of teammates, fellow professionals and football fans nationwide. No doubt you will also approach your treatment by displaying these same cbaracteristics which, along with the support of your friends and family, will aid you greatly in beating this illness. May you continue to remain hopeful, positive and focused, knowing that you will always be in our hearts and minds. Sincerest best wishes, Dan

One of the great Palace captains in my 43 years as a fan.Would have won many more England caps but for that bl@@dy programme taking the P*ss for the miss against France.Never on a losing side for England.Fantastic box to box player.Must have been a nightmare to play against.I will never forget the brave header against Everton in the ZDS Final, the volley at Elland Road with his RIGHT foot, or him standing on a table in the Glaziers after we beat Blackburn in the play off final and leading the fans in a chorus of 'One Geoff Thomas'.Most of all though is the fact he is a top man.I met him a few times in the Players lounge, a true gentleman and he always had time for everyone. He's used to battling many bad injuries and always won and it will be no different this time because he's a battler.
I'M PALACE TILL I DIE..WHOEVERS THE BL@@DY MANAGER |

What are the chances of the club doing a fund raising/testimonial game to help Geoff and raise money to help find a cure, say palace of the 90-92 versus the present day squad with Lombardo and coppell as guest players. its a great idea,

I checked the Wolve's and Crew (official) websites last night and they both have a "get well" piece, I then cheked the Palace website and there was nothing what so ever. I e-mailed them if they were going to cover it and have not yet got a reply. If they can't do a simple get well soon I doubt they will do anyhting else.
This club has had some great moments. Ready for some more? |

As with many other people on this and other sites I was shocked when I heard this news. Geoff was part of the team which inspired me to start supporting the Palace. He was and to this day remains on my of my favorite Palace players. My heart goes out to him and his family during this difficult time. Get well soon Geoff
