This post has been merged from a topic called 'First game.' by Guntrisoft I am convinced that the first Palace game I saw was against West Ham to celebrate opening of Crystal Palace Sports Centre.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'First game.' by Guntrisoft Thank you, thought I was going mad. Up all night watching the Final, first year we have ever missed play-offs, went back to bed at 6 am but couldn't sleep. Wife in tears and she now has no nails.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Whsts your first ever Palace game story?' by SloveniaDave Found a few old posts on this but thought its time for a new one. My first game was in 1990. Palace at home to Derby. I was 14 and my brothers best mate took me. Can't remember the score but Wrighty broke his leg (sure that happened) and my brother's mate said he wouldn't take me again as I was bad luck! But I had the bug and my fate as a supporter of the rollercoaster Palace was sealed. I wonder how many had their first Palace game at Wembley the other day? Or can go back a little further.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Whsts your first ever Palace game story?' by SloveniaDave Mine was a cup game against QPR in 1982. We lost 1-0 with Clive Allen making everybody's day and scoring against us, and then had a riot, anyone remember this - you probably don't want to? I was only a boy, so didn't join in. Must have made some impression on me to remain a fan. Even then I remember thinking there was something very shoe-box like about Loftus Rd and how plastic the QPR fans were - some things never change. The unlucky results still continue to pop up every so often - mixed with the good ones of course. The typical Palace experience I would say.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Whsts your first ever Palace game story?' by SloveniaDave I was 11 years old in 1971 having just came home from 3 years living in Canada until mum got homesick. My dad took me to Palace Man U which we ended up losing 5-3. It took me a while to appreciate seeing Best, Charlton, Law etc in my first ever game but instantly became a palace fan. You can find the whole game on you tube as one of the classic matches The Big Match ever screened. About 5 years ago a good mate of mine was clearing his loft before a move. He sent me through the post an envelope with a note saying "this might be of interest to you more than me" ( he's a Chelsea fan) and inside the envelope was a pristine programme of that game!!! We had never discussed our first ever games, it was such an amazing coincidence especially cause he was there too.
