Yeah right, like there's ever been a better war film made than 'Saving Private Ryan'! It's a fantastic film and it brings the Normandy landings to life, actually puts you there on the beach with those men. It has a wonderful story line and is made in a way that no war film before has ever been made, it's realism when the bullets and s*** start flying is amazing - especially in 5:1.

But I spose you think some awful arty-farty psychedelic s*** about Vietnam is better?

Damn I hate film snobbery!

Pulp Fiction - Brilliant mix of action, comedy and a great gangster film, with some legendary lines.

Fight Club - Brad Pitt and Edward Norton were amazing in this.

Green Mile - 'Nuff Said.

Goodfellas - A real classic.

American History X - Another great film, ed norton excels himself in it.

This is a true story that i once overheard

Dowie says:is it a bird, is it a plane
Simon says :no its not a plane and its not a bird, but it goes as quick as them, so therefor iv'e come to the conclusion that it is Andy Johnson.
Dowie says: oH yes your right

Fair enough, but I gotta say 'Enemy at the gates' is without a doubt one of the worst films I've seen in my life, the acting was absolutely atrocious, I got it on pay per view and suffered about forty minutes before I nearly threw the box outta the window, awful! I will sit through some serious s*** before I give up, I very rarely do that, but that was one occasion! Apocalypse now, about the most overrated film I've ever seen, what the living f*** is that s*** all about? Far out man! A bridge too far, now you're taking, decent film, old and out dated, but a classic.

Changing the subject... Clerks? Are you f***ing serious people? I demanded my money back from Blockbuster for that s*** and I f***ing got it! Ah God I despair! Bloody art students!

Quote Dan Theolmesdaleroad at 09 Nov 2003 8:57pm

1. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
I know it's become a predictable choice in this list, but there is a reason why so many people have named it in their top five. An immensely gripping and powerful prison drama from start to finish, this gloriously triumphant film is everything a movie should be, and more; dramatic, moving, and above all uplifting, with characters for whom you can feel genuine warmth and compassion. If you are one of the few who has yet to be inspired by this most sublime masterpiece, then you must buy it, unplug the phone, switch off the lights, disconnect your doorbell and treat yourself to the finest two hours of movie magic you could ever wish to experience. Truly a gem to treasure forever.

Very popular choice with many people, but i gotta say i thought this film was mediocre, until the ending, which was one of the best endings ive seen to a film, just my opinion!

Also i'm surprised Big Fish did so poorly over here in the cinema, i thought it was a classic film
