I wonder what the Democrat supporters would accept in the White House rather than Trump? A well trained monkey perhaps? Why go with living. How about a tin of spam? After all, anything would be better than Trump. Right?

I don’t. The only thing that’s smoking now is the fire that’s been lit under the Democrats. It will bring renewed determination to ensure we never again see Trump in the WH. So a different republican leader will do what differently that will help you get over your TDS. Vivek, Ellise his current VP etc. why would they be different to trump? Edited by cryrst (22 Jul 2024 6.03pm) There are, or certainly used to be, many decent, intelligent and principled Republicans. These days they tend to all be sycophants hoping for advancement and saying whatever Trump wants to hear. The good ones have either gone into hiding or been elbowed. We cannot know if any one of his current boothangers would be better than him, but it’s likely as they could not be any worse. Better the devil you know doesn’t apply to Trump. When you are at the bottom everything else must be an improvement. Or so we must hope.

It wouldn’t interfere with elections, make stupid remarks about pandemics, cosy up to dictators and seek to become one himself. It would allow the departments of government to do their jobs, allow Congress to make laws and the Justice Department to administer them.

It also wouldn't call Zelensky Putin or call Kamala Harris Trump, walk into a flag pole, call the Hispanic caucus the Black caucus, fall over, confuse the All Blacks with the Black and Tans, fall off a bike or claim to have met both the chancellor of Germany and the President of France several years after they'd both died.

Clearly it’s now anything but republican and that democrats are all good!

It would appear that if Republicans don't tow-the-line with Trump, they are side-lined. So the Republican ethos is totally Trump-led whilst he's at the top of the tree.

It will also be interesting to see how many “never-Trumpers” come out of hiding and endorse Harris now. They would need to be very brave to do so because they won’t have Secret Service protection around them and not all are rich enough to be able to afford their own security. Not too many John McCains about. Those who can speak freely because they know their life is coming to its end soon.
