The whole situation is starting to rival Coronation Street for the longest running soap opera.

have to say i find it strange he would get married in late June/early July just when pre-season starts if he was intending to re-sign for us. Not saying he won't re-sign but if he does we are clearly the fallback option.

Could be he knew he'd be resigning, perhaps he and his agent have created doubt for maximum extraction and offer from Palace, and therefore swanning off to get married within his gift as no need to find and impress a new club/manager/teammates? Only a suggestion from me.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

The reality is that nobody has the faintest idea what's going on. The club could announce that he's re-signing today, tomorrow, in August or never. If you ask me the delay is down to him taking his sweet time weighing up offers rather than anything to do with his agent but who knows. What I do know categorically is that the longer it drags on, the more it hurts the club. If the agent thing is true and he has re-signed, then him not being able to play in any friendlies in pre-season this month is absolutely mental. If he is still deciding and we are being made to wait to see if we need a replacement or not, then for someone who claims to love the club, he's sure not helping our season preparations. And, indeed, if it continues to drag on and then he leaves, clubs will know that we're desperate for a left winger and hike up the prices. Sign or don't sign, I don't really care anymore. Just bored of the speculation.

Just bored of the speculation. It has been reported that he is still undergoing rehab from his hamstring injury (at the clubs training ground) so, if that is true, it is unlikely that he would have been able to play in some if not all of the pre-season friendlies anyway. It may also be a reason for nobody being in a burning rush to get a deal done.

That we don’t know what’s going on doesn’t mean that the club doesn’t. Any deal involves at least two parties who have their own interests to be satisfied. I can’t imagine Parish allowing the club’s interests to be just left in limbo so would have given Zaha a deadline for his decision after which any offer is scrapped. I would have expected that deadline to have been passed weeks ago. If the club knows he has declined then I would have expected more activity than we have seen. So it seems more likely he has agreed, but that it cannot yet be announced.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

If a really big club had made an offer as good as ours - or similar - he would have already been off. Also if Arsenal did, he'd be off. So PSG have not made a matching offer and nor have Arsenal, nor have Chelsea, nor anyone like Barcelona. Although all have been rumoured. Again, I'm not in the know - it's just common sense.
