3-0 eh ??
For a start their 2 front players Watkins & Buendia for example, carry more threat than we have. Where are we going to get 3 goals from this team in the same game ??
Agree though that this one might be winnable but probably have to settle for a ground out 1-0.

For me this game against Villa is the Yardstick, if we dont lose, it will be a very good result, if lose heavily its another matter.

Relax peeps
Cant see where any of the bottom 5 are going to get to 35 points OK one might

Which means 2 wins and and a couple of draws will be enough to stumble over the line but Im sure we are more confident than that

Interesting table of remaining games ,ALL those below us have tough run ins

What I find really interesting, is looking at our remaining fixtures, I feel that if we had Roy, I'd be more confident than PV, which is understandable, given his experience and PV's lack of.

Sure, it's great to try and play a different style, but not if it means free falling....

This was once a quality forum....

Free falling? We have gone from 12th to 12th.

We're not free falling. Seems to me that PV adopted a more pragmatic style of play given that we were playing against a number of "top" teams in succession. Now have what looks like a more solid midfield combo, we should look to kick on for the rest of the season.

We have had a really tough run of games but we have ground out enough points to keep the 6 point buffer in tact. I was nervous following the Fulham / Spurs games but I think we have done exactly what we should have done ….knuckled down and made ourselves hard to beat. We will be fine this season.

That mirrors my sentiments. People keep going on about us having no wins in 2023, but we have only one defeat in six in just about the toughest run of fixtures you could ask for. Having watched some of the games involving teams below us this weekend they look nervous and nowhere near as solid at the back as us. Vieira has remained calm and I think that has fed through to the team.

I agree.

And for those that think Pat isn't learning and evolving, I think he has. Last season, and the start of this, we were a bit gung ho at times.

Even if it isn't pretty, we are learning how to grind out results.
