A stodgier, more predictable Palace I don't think I've seen in a good while. No pace, no invention, negative, no goals...
Extended contracts for a sicknote and a bloke who's score 4 in two seasons.
Our talisman Wilf doesn't seem up for it and the opposition have sussed him out anyway.
Hope that the youth would come through and challenge for the first team seems misplaced, the departure of Shaw asks more questions as to what is going on?
Not looking good.

Totally predictable as far as I am concerned.

Before the season started I pontificated about the fact that we were in for yet another dour season with entertainment at a premium and this is precisely how it is turning out.A very hard watch for us supporters and I am not expecting much change after the January transfer window.

I do the get the impression that many supporters simply do not look forward to games at Selhurst Park and probably many wouldn't bother if they hadn't purchased season tickets.

My main motivation for going at the moment is that my son and daughter go as we are all season ticket holders. So it's a family thing.

It's a tricky one given that we are competing in the best league in the world against top players.

But sometimes I think Palace as a club are at their best when the going gets tough - at the moment there's nothing to get excited about.

If they actually deliver on the supposed three signings in January, maybe things will change....

Well, no. If he's not ready he's not ready.
Blimey what part of this do people not understand? These are kids we are talking about. Throwing them in in front of 26,000 people in the most competitive league in the World could destroy their career if something goes wrong.
Its irresponsible and frankly, if Palace had my son on the books and they threw him in before he was ready (regardless of whether he gave a good account of himself or not) I'd be immediately seeking to move him.

No they're not. Many of the U23s have been around a few years now and are 20 or older. The England team has players younger than some in our U23 team. We have the oldest team in the PL - last Saturday the Chelsea team were on average about 5 years younger than our players. How come teams like Chelsea, Spurs, Man U even Newcastle can give youngsters a chance yet we can't?

Perhaps we don't have the quality of youngsters they possess and of course circumstances play their part.

In terms of Chelsea, the homegrown players they have used this season have had successful loan spells away, albeit at a lower level IE Abraham, Mount,James,Mount,Reece.

I've said previously that we should have at Least one Academy prospect ready to be given a Chance, but even I can see that our Academy is nowhere near the same level as those teams you've mentioned.

So what has been going on at CPFC for all these years?

Who or what position are the supposed three signings in January?

Supposedly two new full backs and a striker.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Knowing us it will probably be three more midfielders

Hmm, now let me think about that one. Could it possibly be because their players at youth level are a lot better than ours?
Or maybe you know of a Foden, a Mount or an Abraham kicking around in our reserves? No? Thought not.
The old saying if you are good enough you are old enough is often spot on. Its equally correct to say if you are never going to be good enough no one cares how old you are. Maybe you should remember that?
