Dear steve, take a look at Matt Tubbs of Crawley Town. scored another two today taking his total to 19 league goals !!

Absolutely agreed. Worth the risk. Look at Morrison for Scumwall. He moved from Stevenage and looked ok.

1 June 2010 - saved from oblivion by CPFC 2010
27 May 2013 - promoted to Premier League
2013-14 - 11th in PL
2014-15 - 10th in PL
2015-16 - 15th in PL
2016-17 - 14th in PL (and grateful for that!)

Tubbs is under contract, Crawley are cash rich and dont need to and wont sell.

Matt Tubbs is an average player playing in a very good Crawley Team. Look at his record and other than this season it is distinctly average. Not worth the risk in my opinion

Hello steve, i hope all is going well with working towards making the new appointment, and thank u for taking the time to come on here to interact with fans!

My suggestion is in relation to the recruitment process of the new boss, the GB critics came out calling for his head like 6 weeks into the season and began creating a very negative vibe although there doubts are now vindicated! I wondered if perhaps 2010 could interview those on the shortlist and maybe select there top 3 then we as supporters could officialy vote in our new manager through the website, similar to what we do with the kits?

I know this would most likely be a 1st in football terms and im sure would generate some serious publicity and capture the imagination it is a system used in politics and the majority always wins through. We are aware u can't please everyone but pleasing the majority is the best anyone can do. I also feel that to do things this way it means those critics will have no room to question the appointment as in theory it would be the majority of thems appointment!

Would this be in anyway be plausible? and if not with this appointment in the future?

For the record i'm torn 3 ways coppell, howe or freedman. There is a niggling doubt in my mind that freedman could be our very own eddie howe!

Very, very good indeed.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

PLEEEEASE Steve, give us some good news and let us know who our new manager is. It is all doom and gloom at the moment. If we have managed to get somebody new at the helm then please tell us so we have something to look forward to. All I have got at the moment is listening to people at work looking forward to next round draw and dreaming of their day at Wembley

crikey

- has any club ever published a shortlist of their managers before an appointment is made?

- dont confuse media silence with inaction on the manager front

- you contradict yourself with your final point. If the club is waiting on their preferred choice to make a decision, how can the same preferred choice be lost through the process of waiting for that decision?

too far gone.. aint no way back
