Also you didn't answer the direct question. There were negatives associated with being apart of the EU....yet you didn't mind them. So your cherry picking now doesn't carry much weight outside of your own choir of remoaners. Edited by Stirlingsays (05 Jul 2017 10.08pm)

I think you miss the point as explained in the link,Stirling (and Hrolf)..Inflation up as direct result of fall in value of sterling, which plainly has happened (at least in major part) as a result of the referendum outcome and talk of a hard brexit. Therefore, perfectly reasonable to relate the likely fare increases (and fall in standard of living) to Brexit. *Train fares go up annually, but It'll be good to blame Brexit as it's a stick to beat the leavers with shocker* Edited by legaleagle (05 Jul 2017 9.17pm)

That's what the flat earthers tried to argue when refusing to accept the world was round Rail fares have been going up way beyond inflation for donkeys years. It's a poor example. On the central point that the UK will be on a rocky economic road for a while and that has never been a bone of contention with me. Remoaners tend to exaggerate it, while some others tend to downplay it. However as the better long term decision I have little doubt about it. The EU is a certain economic disaster waiting to happen....It's like you have a blind spot...and when it happens you are going to take all the flak coming to you. Being outside will lessen the impact.

Regulated fare (including season ticket) rises are linked to the RPI....hence they rise more as inflation goes up significantly due to the fall in the value of sterling post the referendum, thus regulated rail fares will likely increase by more than for some time... This January they rose 1.9% and in January 2016 1% Edited by legaleagle (05 Jul 2017 10.19pm)
