When Wilf’s deal with his current agent expires and he signs for us next month you will look back and spot the clues. 1 no farewell announcement at the last home game 2 the wall mural 3 buying Croydon FC 4 getting married 5 the club never publicly stated they had made an offer ( as this would legally have to involve his current agent) 6 Wilf never publicly stated he was in talks with anyone else 7 he continued to get treatment and train with the club.
He is clearly aware of his legacy and committed to the local area where he wants to be with his family. Also the new deal will be structured in a way that the club can afford and gives Wilf a get out after 2 years if he is not happy with the progress the club is making.
Too many people are happy to put Wilf down based on figures speculated by lazy journalists when what they should do is actually speak to people in the club. All the above was freely given to me by a club employee. Maybe now you understand why neither the club or Wilf will be making any comment in July.

Yes I'm overreacting, but watching the game v Barnet tonight perhaps explains why we're so desperate to keep Zaha.
Do we really want to go into a news season with Mateta, Edouard and Plange as our only forward options?
Ayew was missing but his main strengths relate to hard work rather than magic in the final third.
Eze and Olise are not really forwards/strikers.
I know we would seek to strengthen if Zaha departs, but it will be difficult to afford a player who has the same impact on games.

Cost somewhere around £60m excluding wages between Benteke, Edouard, and Mateta. Poor scouting.

Relax, these games are just for getting the players fitness up.

Hardly any first team players played, it's August 12th that counts, not Barnet away.

If Wilf stays as Waterfordpal suggests and on terms that work for us, who do you think would be the best striker we could realistically recruit, to compliment Wilf, Eze and Olise?

If and it’s a big if, Wilf has not decided, I would prefer him not too stay, his heart would not be in it, however I hope the delay is for good reason and that he stays, but I cannot see why it’s taking so long

As has already been stated on here, he is waiting for his contract to expire on the 31st July with his current agent.

I see Nathan Redmond is basically on a free. Can't remember if he plays on the left but always thought he was pretty good.

Someone Vardy like who plays on the shoulder of the CD

Some reports that they have found a way to finance a deal and they expect to speak to him tomorrow. Nothing signed.
