The Benteke brothers! Roger and Ian Morgan of QPR (I imagine that will stump some of the youngsters on here). Originally posted by silvertop

The centre backs are too old and or injury prone. Ward defends the penalty area well but beyond that doesn’t offer enough. Clyne has been underwhelming. McArthur 34 and increasingly injury prone, Riedewald not good enough, Kouyate has legs but limited creativity, Luka’s legs have gone, Townsend has quality but inconsistent and can’t manage a full season, Benteke can’t be trusted based on the last two and a half years, Ayew is another year older and more laboured. Schlupp lengthy injuries last two seasons. Wilf has lost pace and doesn’t want to be here. I don’t like Gallagher much from what I’ve seen of him either. Maybe you’re right and I’m looking at it too negatively but not many have pulled up any trees this season and most seem in terminal decline or not good enough. Gallagher reminds me of a young McArthur. He's quite quick, a scrapper and gets involved at both ends. I also think Luka and Jairo might do better under a new manager, while Bentenke has shown that he has still got it (after hiding it well for three years). Schlupp is still in his prime if he can avoid injuries. Maybe I am being too positive, but I just think Parish has known this is coming for a long time and so as a successful businessman you would imagine he is prepared, as much as he can be. Only time will tell!

I think the reason we haven't heard anything yet is because nobody fancies it, and why would they? It's an almost impossible task.

There is not a snow balls chance in hell that Frank Lampard will be appointment as our manager. I would love to hear 1 good reason from someone why he would make a good choice for us?

I think in McArthur's case Roy just overused him. At his age you need to manage his time and Roy played him 90 minutes every game (with one exception) over the Christmas run of games and he was obviously knackered. Yet Roy kept going to him. It was inevitable he was going to get an injury and at 33 it could be, as was the case, season ending. That was all on Roy. He could still be useful but only with limited time on pitch. Maybe subbed late in games.
Success will lie to you but failure always tells you the truth. |

He’s a proper player but yet another on the way down and with question marks.
