Alex Scott is the new presenter of Football Focus. Ticks every box imaginable. Which actually detracts from her being a good presenter in her own right. All this showy diversity isn't doing anyone any favours.

Another reason to switch the #defundthebbc off, on bbc4 the other night it was showing womens football, the panel was entirely women not one single bloke, yet when mens footie is on there numbers are encroaching with reporters at grounds, commentators(god, the screeching) & on all panels.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

She's got to be an upgrade on the characterless and practically invisible Dan Walker. He offers nothing. She knows her football and will, I think, make a good job of it.

At least they tell us before the programme is due to start if there may be language of olden days which some viewers may find offensive. Simple times indeed, but some 'authentic' programming nonetheless. Watched an episode of Gideon's Way last night. He drank a cup of tea. Disgusting I tell you. I'm working.

Utter madness. If they have issued a “warning” then people shouldn’t watch it if they are that snowflakey. The Spongebob ones are even more ridiculous

All this showy diversity isn't doing anyone any favours. I am going to post this every 50 pages on this and any other anti-Beeb thread until someone registers. The BBC are required by law to demonstrate equality and inclusivity. If you don't like it, campaign to your MP and the government to have the BBC removed from the list of public bodies. OK, this will probably change nothing. However, it will at least allow you to complain without the BBC having the excuse! BTW, I think most of the anti BBC rants on here from posters who view everything through vary narrow prisms are little more than right wing froth. It's usually just wrong and comprises hearing what conflicts with your personal world view. But... The inclusivity trend I find clumsy, social engineering through use of a crow bar and mattock. It insults the intelligence, marginalizes and largely demonizes the majority and I doubt it even works. Thus, if R4 has a 30 min show on e.g. racism in garden centers, I just switch off.

Can you do it in caps or bold so it is immediately recognisable and can be bypassed with the contempt it deserves. Do you really think you are so intellectually superior that your view is the only valid one on this and should be posted multiple times?

We're making the same point. As I said, it does no one any favours because it calls into question whether individuals are getting where they are on merit or by the requirement by law to demonstrate equality and inclusivity. And, of course, it's not just the BBC. It can never have been a better time to be a black actor, for example, as virtually every advert I see that isn't animated features a black actor in it. Not Oriental or Asian, mind, which is strange. The "clumsy" inclusivity trend that you mention is just that - clumsy. But I have to disagree with your choice of viewing regarding Racism in Garden Centres. The programme needs making. It's a scandal that I've only ever seen white snowdrops and Lily of the Valley in those places.
